Rosé (BLACKPINK) breaks Kpop records, leading Asia with no one to match the great achievement

According to Soompi, at around 14:52 on January 31, Rosé ( Blackpink) and Bruno Mars' MV "APT." exceeded 1 billion views on YouTube. The MV "APT." achieved this achievement after 105 days of release, as of October 18, 2024.

Rosé became the fastest K-pop artist and Asian artist to reach 1 billion views in history, surpassing the best record that PSY's MV "Gangnam Style" ever recorded at 158 days.

"APT." is also the fifth fastest music video to reach 1 billion YouTube views globally, behind Adele's "Hello" (87 days), Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" (96 days), Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" (97 days) and J Balvin and Willy William's "Mi Gente" (102 days).

With "APT.", Rosé is currently the K-pop artist with the fastest music product to reach 1 billion views/streams on 2 major music platforms, YouTube and Spotify.

"APT." reached 1 billion streams on Spotify on Jan. 26. Rosé's song recorded this achievement after 100 days of release, breaking the previous K-pop record set by Jungkook (BTS) and rapper Latto (108 days).

Last week, "APT." climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Ho.t 100 - a weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States. Rosé holds the record as the female Kpop artist (both group and solo) with the best performance on this chart.
