"APT." is not only the fastest music video to reach 300 million views for a K-pop solo artist, but also the sixth fastest music video to do so of all time (for all artists worldwide).
With the record for being the fastest music video by a K-pop solo artist to reach 300 million views, Rosé broke the previous record of about 25 days held by PSY's 2013 hit "Gentleman." PSY's record had stood unbeaten for 11 years.
APT. was inspired by Rosé's popular Korean drinking game, "apateu" (apartment). The song quickly became a hit in Korea and around the world, earning Rosé her first Perfect All-Kill certification in her solo career, debuting at number 8 on the Billboard Ho.t 100, and many other achievements.
The popularity of APT. also brought another song with the same name to the top of the Korean charts, Apartment by Yoon Soo Il. This song was released in 1982 and was considered a "national hit" at that time.
With a very good number of views and listens, "APT." became the most successful song in Rosé's solo career. The song was not only composed by Rosé, but also revolved around a traditional Korean game, expressing the culture and lifestyle of Korean youth.
Thanks to the "stacking house" fever, Rosé became the female Kpop artist with the highest monthly listeners in Spotify history. "APT." has maintained the No. 1 position on the global Spotify chart for 20 consecutive days, and has been at No. 1 on Apple Music globally and iTunes globally for 2 weeks.
