Rapper Vsoul: "Melody players" go wild from King Of Rap to Vietnamese Rap

Rapper VSoul is one of the young and talented rappers of the Underground world today. He is known to the audience when he participated in the program King Of Rap (2020) and Rap Viet season 2.

Vsoul's real name is Ngo Cao Hoang Viet, born in 1996 (25 years old) in Soc Trang. He is known to the audience when he participated in the King Of Rap contest (2020). Although he did not go deep into the inner circle of this program, when he reappeared on the Vietnamese Rap stage season 2, the 9x bo.y was one of the faces that attracted attention.

Before deciding to pursue his current artistic path, Ngo Cao Hoang Viet used to be a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. Ho Chi Minh City (HUTECH). After graduating, with an endless passion for rap, the bo.y born in 1996 took the stage name Vsoul, started making music and decided to become a freelance rapper.

Vsoul's forte is melodic rap. But the male rapper also does well in many aspects of rap. In particular, Vsoul is the "monster" of freestyle rap, especially in diss battles.

Even in one time Vsoul got drunk on the party table, he still improvised freestyle - where the music goes, the words flow there in a natural flow - making the viewers of the video ask: "How did Vsoul reach such a level of freestyle rap?".

Vsoul's "substance" is a street rapper. He experienced a series of rap battles of the freestyle school. The place where those matches took place was a small alley in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City, a coffee spot, and there is also a professional stage for battle rap.

There was a time when Ngo Cao Hoang Viet was a member of DCOD but then left and joined Hustlang until now. Some impressive music products with a bold Vsoul style must be mentioned such as NGTANOISE (combined with MFree and Tuyen Vo), Single Phuong, Still Be Me,...

2020 was a milestone marking the first step in Vsoul's career when he registered to participate in the King Of Rap contest and quickly became a face in the spotlight. The coaches of this program evaluate him as a person with a good rhyme, impressive beat music and smart flow. Even Lil Shady or musician Ho Hoai Anh did not hesitate to give compliments to Vsoul after each contest, and the audience favorably called him a "melody player".

Thanks to the King Of Rap contest, VSoul's name came closer to the public. Here, he has proven his ability to coordinate flow intelligently, sho.w quite impressive beats and the ability to explode on stage. VSoul made a big surprise when he remixed the song Eyes, Wanbi Tuan Anh's once-popular hi.t. This contest quickly won a lot of love from the audience.

However, while leading the vote at King Of Rap and having many opportunities to appear on the night of the resurrection, Vsoul suddenly decided to withdraw in the top 20. The reason given by the young male rapper at that time was because it was related to health problems and wanted to give the opportunity to continue to the junior contestants. This has made many fans feel extremely sorry for the 9x talent.

Right below VSOUL's post, many contestants of KING OF RAP such as Spideyboy, HIEUTHUHAI, MAS... along with OBITO, Orange Khuong Hoan My... showed his "respect" to the male rapper.

In 2021, Vsoul returned to the music track when he appeared in the first episode of the Vietnamese Rap Contest season 2, performing the song Falling In You based on the original beat, which was a once-popular hi.t - Missed Love Em Many by JustaTee. With the ability to rap melodies that are catchy and very Western for the past 9 years, the audience is not too surprised when Vsoul received up to "3 kicks" of consent from the coaches Binz, Karik, Rhymastic.

Even JustaTee "demanded" the organizers to provide a button like everyone else to accept this guy to his team. As a result, Vsoul returned to Rhymastic's team and was considered one of the "heavyweight competitors" and indeed Vsoul wrote his name in the Final at Rap Viet season 2.

Listening to Vsoul perform the rap song in the Conquest of Vietnamese Rap round, Rhymastic exclaimed: "Vsoul's melody is completely different from the rest of Vietnamese rap".

Binz pointed out more special qualities of Vsoul: "Vsoul is a very rare thing, very rarely happens in Vietnamese rap. It would be easy for a rapper to go to such a tune in English, but bringing it back to Vietnamese is a different story. I think Vsoul takes a lot of time to practice that ability."

LK said that it is unclear whether Vsoul is the first person to use auto tune in Vietnamese rap. But Vsoul is the only one who "plays the tune" and still infuses 100% of emotions into the melody.

Rappers often joke "Vsoul attaches a tune to the neck", or "Vsoul runs auto tone with rice". This implies that Vsoul has trained to the level of normal live singing, but there is still an auto tune in it. Vsoul is a rare rapper who, when performing normally, still gives the feeling, more or less, of a "tuned" voice.

Before participating in Rap Viet, the audience was most impressed with Vsoul in his ability to Melodic Rap and play tunes. However, one thing that few people know is that VSOUL once stood in the same line as Phaos, Hanh OR and Night T to represent the South in a big battle rap tournament with the judges Wowy, LK and MC ILL.

Vsoul's level of beat and energy has been confirmed for a long time. He also came up with a very creative way of handling: "Let's put a little Korean and Egyptian sound into Vietnamese". And he did exactly what he said.
