BLACKPINK returns after nearly 3 years with the MV "JUMP", causing a stir with its futuristic concept and top-notch visuals. In particular, Jennie 's appearance unexpectedly reminds Vietnamese fans of... Phuong My Chi.
At exactly 11am on July 11 (Vietnam time), BLACKPINK officially marked their long-awaited comeback after 2 years and 10 months with a new MV called "JUMP". This comeback is not only an affirmation of their position as a Kpop wall but also an overwhelming landing in the new visual era where music, images and technology intersect like never before.
Far from the predictable concepts seen in previous MVs such as " Pink Venom " or "DDU-DU DDU-DU", "JUMP" stunned the audience from the very first seconds. With a surreal, futuristic style, the MV is not just a simple musical product but a new aesthetic manifesto of BLACKPINK.
The melody of "JUMP" is a bold combination of synth-pop, hardstyle, bass drop and trap, crafted by the duo Teddy - 24. This is a difficult mix to listen to at first, many people even think that the song is a bit picky. However, the more you listen, the more you are attracted - a characteristic that BLACKPINK has been pursuing: Not to please the majority, but to lead the trend.
This MV was directed by Dave Meyers - the name behind a series of million-view MVs such as "pov" (Ariana Grande) or "New Woman". It is not surprising that every frame in "JUMP" looks like it was cut from a sci-fi blockbuster. The entire MV is covered in cyberpunk colors, sharp effects, bright neon lights and a series of unbelievable VFX effects all creating a world where BLACKPINK transforms into post-apocalyptic superheroes.
It is impossible not to mention the image this time, the 4 girls transformed into 4 future warriors. The high-fashion outfits combined with hair and accessories with a strong sci-fi spirit make viewers unable to take their eyes off. The image of BLACKPINK is no longer just an idol but a symbol of musical power and style.
If the music and visuals were enough to make international fans "fall over", then in Vietnam, a funny situation became a hot topic. Jennie was mistaken for singer Phuong My Chi. This seemingly impossible situation exploded on social networks right after the MV thumbnail was released.
With bangs, a white corset outfit and cool black glasses, Jennie in JUMP looks surprisingly similar to the familiar image of Phuong My Chi. A post of Jennie - Lisa - Rosé taking a photo with Phuong My Chi went viral on social media, attracting more than 8,000 interactions after only 3 hours of posting. This detail, although humorous, unintentionally made the MV JUMP receive a huge amount of attention from the Vietnamese fan community.
After exactly 1 hour of release, the MV "JUMP" has received more than 3.5 million views, quickly becoming the Kpop MV to reach 1 million likes fastest in 2025 on YouTube. By 2 pm on the same day (Korean time), "JUMP" officially debuted on digital music charts with impressive rankings: #4 on Bugs, #20 on MelOn, #23 on Genie
With such opening numbers, it is not too difficult to predict that "JUMP" will continue to dominate global music charts in the coming days. The highlight that cannot be missed in the MV is the final scene: BLACKPINK appears on a magnificent VFX stage, with a sci-fi, cold and rebellious look. However, this scene only lasts about 10 seconds, enough to make viewers freeze but regret because it is too short. Many fans also hope that YG will release a director's cut version to fully enjoy this scene.
"JUMP" is not only a comeback after nearly 3 years of absence, but also a bold and intelligent new musical declaration of BLACKPINK. The group does not follow the safe path but chooses to push all limits from image, melody to message. In an era where mainstream music is gradually taking over, BLACKPINK still chooses to stand alone in a brilliant, rebellious and confident corner. With "JUMP", BLACKPINK once again affirms its irreplaceable position on the global music map, not only as a top Kpop group but also as a cultural icon of the new era.
BLACKPINK made MV like "running a deadline", lost to TWICE 0-1, fans were extremely disappointed Snow21:31:54 11/07/2025At noon on July 11, Kpop exploded when the two most popular girl groups today, BLACKPINK and TWICE, simultaneously released new products. This is a rare encounter between two giants of the Hallyu wave.
