Compared to the first night, BLACKPINK's DEADLINE concert at Goyang Stadium, South Korea saw a sharp increase in the number of celebrities attending. In which, the character that captures all the attention is Mingyu (SEVENTEEN).
The male idol came to the BLACKPINK concert with his close friends. Without make-up or fancy dressing, Mingyu still stood out from the crowd, even causing social networks to explode for another reason: questioning her feelings for Jennie.
Since the beginning of 2024, rumors of Mingyu and Jennie dating have been rumbling in the Kpop fan community. Netizens discovered that the two were in Japan at the same time, checked in at the same restaurant and used many double items. In addition, someone also caught Mingyu, Jennie and Jung Kook going out to dinner together. Notably, all three are brand ambassadors for fashion brand Calvin Klein, sparking more speculation about a closer relationship than usual.
Jennie was seen at SEVENTEEN's concert in April, cheering enthusiastically. On the contrary, now Mingyu and the members of the million-song boy group also appeared on BLACKPINK's stage, as a response.
Meanwhile, Jennie also used to interact openly with a member of Mingyu's group. Lisa has a close relationship with Mingyu, he is also the first male idol to appear on her personal TikTok account. Although it is all just speculation, there has been no confirmation from the two sides, but the interweaving of interaction between the two cult music groups makes fans extremely excited.
The focus of the concert not only stopped at the huge cast of guests, but also on the debut stage of the song JUMP â the latest music product marking BLACKPINK's return after nearly 3 years. Although the song has not been officially released, BLACKPINK still decided to perform in advance at the concert, making global fans "sit still".
According to Jennie, JUMP will be officially released next week, after the group completes its first two concerts in Korea. The new song immediately created a fever on social media platforms, especially with international fans. BLINK around the world simultaneously celebrated, singing along to the new song throughout the night. Many compliments were given to each member's unique voice, and at the same time recognized their maturity in music after a long time of solo activities.
However, in the opposite direction, the reaction of Korean netizens is somewhat mixed. Just a few hours after the performance clips went viral, posts discussing JUMP have reached the top trending on forums, attracting thousands of comments. A part of the audience expressed their disappointment with the song, saying that this is not a product worthy of BLACKPINK's reputation.
Some comments also said that the song somewhat resembled the old products of 2NE1 â YG's seniors, while the stage setting and choreography were not really convincing. Only a live performance version, JUMP still does not have high-quality audio or an official MV. Therefore, experts believe that the reaction may change after the product is fully released on platforms.
It is undeniable that JUMP brings positive energy and a playful spirit true to the style BLACKPINK once pursued. The content of the song encourages women to live their lives to the fullest, dare to do what they love. Although not really breakthrough, the product is still enough to satisfy loyal fans. However, this led to familiar criticism for BLACKPINK and YG's management company: lack of innovation, one-color music, superficiality.
Many fans also complained about poor promotion strategies: from releasing only a few faint teasers, poor photo design to organizing concerts with incomplete products. BLACKPINK's return with a new song after a long time should have been a "music feast", but what YG brought made fans feel disappointed.
However, looking at the international reaction and the expectations that JUMP is receiving, there are still many opportunities for BLACKPINK to go upstream if there is the right promotion strategy. After more than a year of focusing on solo careers, the reunion of the 4 members was enough to create a media explosion. The only thing left is whether the music will conquer the mass audience or not.
Jennie was soaked, asked to "bury the love" with V BTS, and was immediately noticed by a male god
Hoàng Phúc15:20:04 01/02/2025At exactly 12 noon on January 31 (Vietnam time), Jennie officially launched the MV Love Hangover. As part of RUBY's debut album, Love Hangover marks Jennie's first collaboration with Dominic Fike.
