Artist My Duyen is one of the familiar artists of Vietnamese theater, film and television. Over 30 years of artistic activities, she is not only known as a talented actress, but also an irreplaceable symbol of "princess" in the hearts of many generations of audiences.
The once illustrious beauty on the screen, possessing a beauty like a doll
My Duyen used to be one of the most famous beauties in the 90s - early 2000s. At one time, she made the audience memorable with her honest acting and doll-like beauty with round eyes, a beautiful small mouth and graceful crooked teeth.
At that time, the image of My Duyen appeared all over the wall calendar pictures. The beauty is also loved when starring in many cult film and television works such as Bitter Love 2, Blade, The Golden Key, Oath, Black Water Village, Dancing Girl, Cinderella on the Sidewalk, The Robber General...
Famous for acting, but few people know, as a child, My Duyen was oriented to pursue a ballet career. At the age of 10, she was chosen to go to Russia to study dance at an extremely prestigious school.
After returning to her home country after studying, My Duyen joined the dance team of the Peace Theater and stayed with her for a long time. However, at that time, the dance profession was not developing, so she did not have many opportunities to show her talent.
Later, My Duyen's mother learned that director Le Hoang Hoa was casting for a movie, so she took her to audition. Although she is not a professional actress, the beauty still surpasses many other faces to be chosen.
However, My Duyen did not participate in this film because at the same time she was also invited to play Bitter Love Part 2. Also from here, the actress fell in love with the 7th art.
In 2002, My Duyen made a splash on the big screen when she transformed into the character Hoa, a village girl who played as much as possible and then died of banned substances and social diseases in the movie Dancing Girl directed by Le Hoang. The work is as popular as alcohol to help her build a solid foothold in the film industry.
Not only successful on the screen, My Duyen is also loved through her role as a drama actress. She has transformed into a princess countless times on stage.
It is no exaggeration to say that My Duyen is one of the actresses who plays the most princesses in Vietnam. She is a beautiful princess in the Once Upon a Time series, sometimes Cinderella in Cinderella, or Princess Me Ly in The Little Mermaid, Princess Mai Nuong Ngoc Hoa in Crystal Mountain...
Up to now, My Duyen's skillful dances, graceful and cute shapes are still attractive to audiences from adults to childre.n. On the drama stage, the princess has become her "trademark". She is even favored by fans as "the ageless princess", forever the princess in their hearts.
With her contributions to theater and screen, in 2007, My Duyen was awarded the title of Outstanding Artist by the State.
Currently, when she turns middle-aged, Artist My Duyen is still working the studio and stage.
She confided to the Star: "For me, making art is happiness and we have a whole life to live. In this world, there is happiness in doin.g i.t. If I don't practice Tet dramas, I have nothing to do for the whole year. Acting in movies is also a precious opportunity, how can I leave. Sitting at home, I will be very bored, and I will have no income. Everything needs to be harmonious."
At the age of 42, she just got married, now she lives away from her husband
Because of her passion for art, My Duyen used to have a long time living single. There was even a time when she thought she would become a single mother because the love affair did not go well. It was not until the age of 42 that the actress found her "true intention" which is her current husband.
My Duyen's husband, named Cong Phuoc, is an overseas Vietnamese who has lived in Germany since he was 12 years old. The couple knew when Cong Phuoc was working as the director of the New Vitality program, and My Duyen took on the role of MC. However, at first, they only kept in touch, not thinking about falling in love.
When actress My Duyen stopped hosting, Cong Phuoc dared to confess her love to her. The actress accepted her boyfriend's love on his birthday.
In 2012, actor My Duyen gave birth to her first son. 2 years later, they held a cozy wedding in Germany with the participation of family and some close friends.
In recent years, My Duyen's husband has put aside his communication work and switched to a farm business in Dong Nai. He only goes home on weekends, so the two don't see each other often.
However, this does not affect the couple's married life.
My Duyen's concept of marriage is very clear: husband and wife do not necessarily have to be close all the time. Independence helps her to be herself, to live true to her passion and inherent artist's personality. Perhaps thanks to that open mind, her marriage has remained sustainable over time.
The secret to preserving Meritorious Artist My Duyen's home does not lie in flowery words but in simple things: eating a family meal together, giving in when conflicting, and being frank in sharing. Her husband is sparing words but often chooses to express himself such as going to the kitchen to cook to mediate after an argument.
"For more than 10 years of marriage, my wife and I have learned the word "ring". I often joke if I don't hold back for a long time. A woman should sometimes be humble and sacrifice for a peaceful house," My Duyen said.
When asked if she was worried that the couple was "far from each other", My Duyen frankly said that she was still jealous, but felt that the other person loved her or not and to what extent. "I once told my husband: When I feel that I am no longer needed, I will withdraw myself, not waiting for him to speak," she confided to VietNamNet.
Actress My Duyen shared: "Cohesion is something we maintain day by day through more than 10 years of marriage, even when living apart. At this age, we still give each other a private romance, together on Christmas Eve, Tet holidays and celebrate our wedding anniversary together.
For me, my husband who works far away also has a good thing. That's when I have my own space, do what I like, and seek personal freedom."
Thanks to a successful career and a happy family, at the age of 53, actress My Duyen is still very beautiful and young. Her beauty seems to be getting more and more salty, more passionate over time.
