Ban Mai used to suffer from dyslexia, rose to become an excellent student, and implemented many community projects when she was crowned Miss Peace Vietnam . After being crowned Miss Peace Vietnam, Ban Mai said that she went through a journey of many emotions.

The beauty was once entangled in rumors of "going to the contest", "buying prizes", being "bo.d.y shaming" on social networks or noisy from the contest she was crowned. She said: "I didn't do anything wrong or hide my socks to be ashamed. I understand that each contest has its own value. Up to now, I am always proud of my decision to take the exam, achieving good results from my personal efforts."

Miss Tran Thi Ban Mai's full name is Tran Thi Ban Mai, born in 2000, from Ho Chi Minh City. She is 1.75 m tall, with three round measurements of 84-62-92 cm, respectively. The beauty is fluent in English due to many years of study at Fisher University, Massachusetts, USA. After graduating, Ban Mai returned home to work for three months, participating in a beauty contest.

Ban Mai left her mark through volunteer activities, promoting the title of "Compassionate Beauty" - a secondary prize from the contest. She has visited the SOS Da Nang Youth Village, the Women's Protection Association, and children affected by Agent Orange. At the end of October 2022, she went to Ky Son district, Nghe An, to give 300 million VND to support people after the flash flood. She also awarded scholarships to poor students to overcome difficulties at universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

Miss is currently the ambassador of the Donate books for coffee cups project, calling for the construction of bookcases for teenagers in remote and remote areas. She is also a member of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights (belonging to the Vietnam Lawyers Association) since 2021.

Ban Mai was also malnourished when he finished 5th grade, was 1.6 m tall but weighed only 38 kg. She turned to sports to improve her appearance. At the age of 10, she won her first prize - a bronze medal in volleyball at school - much to the relief of her parents.

The beauty focuses most of her time on studying. She used to be a good student for 12 years in a row, then won a scholarship to study in the US. From 2018 to 2022, Ban Mai has always been on the list of excellent and honorary students of the school. In May 2022, she graduated with distinction in Communication and Public Relations.

She said that the family used to live in a dilapidated apartment, four people passed each other on a motorbike. The effort to rise from the empty hands of her parents is an example for her to learn. Ban Mai said: "I was kindly educated by my parents to avoid temptations. For many months, I have been proving to my relatives that I am brave enough to go my own way."

Up to now, Ban Mai does not consider what has not been achieved as a stumbling block or failure. "I believe that everything that comes to me has a reason. Every experience helps me realize that there is nothing I can't do if I try and determine. When you go alone, it will take time and effort at first, but when you overcome it, you will grow and be many times stronger," Ban Mai said.

Stylist Travis Nguyen commented that Ban Mai has had a big change after working together. He said: "From a shy girl, Ban Mai is gradually perfecting from her body to her dress style. She is strong but needs more time to adapt, perfect, find her own way."

In May 2023, Miss Ban Mai participated in the editor and MC selection contest of VTV9 - a national TV channel in the system of Vietnam Television.

The selection consisted of 60 contestants selected from hundreds of applications sent from all over the world, including professional MCs, journalists, editors, people working in the field of media, and collaborators of television stations for many years. The candidates go through 3 rounds of the competition: Writing, interviewing and recording. Miss Ban Mai received the highest score of 89/100. The results were announced in early June and the successful editors and MCs started working on June 15.

Ban Mai said that she has only touched the MC field in the last few months. Although her schedule is busy, over the past time, she has still arranged time to participate in the course to perfect her skills and be able to take on this new role well.

"When I learned that VTV opened the MC and BTV recruitment contest after 12 years, it was also very close to the deadline for candidates to submit applications. Immediately, I completed all the requirements to submit my application. Actually, I hope but don't expect too much that I will be accepted. Because, I knew that this was the recruitment of MCs, BTV was considered "difficult", but luckily I smiled and I had the opportunity to work at VTV.

I think it is correct to say "the profession of choosing people", but the important thing is my determination and passion for journalism. I believe that when entering a new working environment, especially like VTV, I need to relearn everything because each position will have its own requirements. When working at VTV, I have just worked as an MC, BTV and reporter, so I have to hone my knowledge and skills in a short period of time to improve more and more," - the female BTV shared.
