In 1970, Kim Tien auditioned for the radio broadcaster's entrance exam for the Voice of Vietnam, in 1971 she continued to audition for the Vietnam Television Station, but both times she failed. In 1973, she joined the dance team of Vietnam Television Station and it was not until 1975, after 5 years working at the dance team of the Central Television Station, that her dream of becoming a broadcaster came true.

Initially, she was assigned a "supporting role", that is, only read the short passages, the ending of the program. After that, she began to take on the "main role" for news reports. She said that in those days television technology was still backward, so people had to replace the machines.

Right from the first broadcast on Central Television, Kim Tien's "full moon shape" and inspirational, resolute voice have "scored" in the eyes of the audience nationwide. She admitted that her voice is not so good that it is "legendary", perhaps people are praising the way it conveys emotions and makes listeners easily shaken.

Kim Tien stopped working as a broadcaster of the News program in May 2001 because the work of the Live News program was intense and not suitable for age. She moved to work in the Program Department, appearing on VTV1 TV Box. In 2002, Meritorious Artist Kim Tien retired but still opened broadcasting and editing classes for younger generations. To this day, she is still one of the favorite broadcasters, editors, and presenters of many generations of television viewers.

Meritorious Artist Kim Tien once had a beautiful marriage with a husband who is also a colleague. But their marriage broke up when their daughter was not yet 18 months old. TV work is quite hard, and raising children alone makes artist Kim Tien no longer have time to take care of herself. She stayed there for 20 years and lived alone raising her children and devoted herself to work.

After many events, she also found a peaceful landing in her life with her second husband, businessman, Doctor of Chemistry Dao Van Tam. He is a successful man, also has 2 children of his own, but both live in Germany and sometimes return to Vietnam.

Talking about the current man of his life, Meritorious Artist Kim Tien could not hide his happiness and pride:

"My husband is like a gift from nature to me. He is knowledgeable but always listens and sympathizes with others. I feel happy when I find someone who shares the same path and has the same faith."

She and her husband live together very peacefully and happily. When there was no epidemic, grandparents often went abroad to visit their children and grandchildren. The stepson of Meritorious Artist Kim Tien also loves and respects Mr. Dao Van Tam.

Now at the age of 73, Meritorious Artist Kim Tien is living a peaceful life with her husband. She still maintains her regular teaching work. Occasionally, she still appears on VTV's commemorative programs and gala.
