Meritorious Artist Hong Duc (real name Nguyen Van Duc) was born on November 12, 1940 in My Duc district, Hanoi in a family rich in patriotic traditions. Since 1963, by chance, from an architect in Hai Phong, he became an actor of the Vietnam Feature Film Studio.

Specifically, in the period from 1963 to 1969, NS Hong Duc became a film actor of the Vietnam Feature Film Studio (now the Vietnam Feature Film Studio One Member Company Limited). As an actor, he has devoted a lot to art and made a name for himself since these years.

Then, until 1964, artist Hong Duc made his mark with the role of hero Cu Chinh Lan in the movie Young Soldier.

Through this special role, NS Hong Duc received the Golden Lotus award at the first Vietnam Film Festival - 1970 and the Certificate of Merit from the Soviet Cinema Association at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1965. After the first successes, NS Hong Duc has continued to participate and contribute his charming performance with many other films such as: Standard Flag, A Car Ride, Dawn of Dawn, Song of Dawn.

During the period from 1969 to 1993, NS Hong Duc was a veteran artist of the Central Repertory Theater (now the Vietnam Drama Theater). After that, he also continued to appear in many other impressive plays such as: My Captain, The Tiger's Claw, The Song of Life, Going against the flow of life...

Although he decided to retire in 1993, because he still nurtured his love of art, artist Hong Duc continued to participate in television series.

In the years 1990 - 2000, the male artist made a mark in the audience's hearts with his lifetime roles such as: Three Provinces in the film Street Story; Mr. Siu - the casino owner in the movie Run.

Meritorious Artist Hong Duc made the audience unforgettable with the role of "only" Tien - the "boss" character modeled on the gangster Nam Cam in the movie Criminal Police: White Collar (10 episodes, scriptwriter Nguyen Nhu. Phong, broadcast in 2002).

Being trusted to play the role, artist Hong Duc with a very pious but no less cunning appearance played a very sweet and impressive role. Despite trying very hard, this role still has some points that are not close to reality when the character of the gangster boss is a bit too shiny and flamboyant compared to the time the movie was released, but it is undeniable that Tien "just " is one of the bright spots that make the film's success.
