Indian actress Shefali Jariwala died at the age of 42, suspected of cardiac arrest. Three days before her death, she shared a personal photo on social media, along with the caption: "Go ahead, I'm ready."
According to Mirror, Indian actress and model Shefali Jariwala has passed away at the age of 42. The initial cause is believed to be cardiac arrest, however, authorities have not officially confirmed it. Her body has been transferred to Cooper Hospital for an autopsy.
Indian media reported that Shefali breathed her last on Thursday evening at Bellevue General Hospital in Mumbai. The family has not yet made an official statement, but her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, was seen leaving the hospital late in the evening looking distraught.
Before her death, Shefali was still updating her personal activities on social media. Three days ago, she posted a series of photos from a new photo shoot with the status: "Go ahead, I'm ready."
Shefali's sudden passing has left many colleagues and fans in mourning. Actor Aly Goni wrote on social media: "Shocked and heartbroken to hear of Shefali's passing. Life is so fragile." Meanwhile, rapper Mika Singh shared on Instagram: "Can't believe my dear friend is gone. You will always be remembered for your smile and grace."
Born in 1982, Shefali Jariwala graduated with a degree in Information Technology from Sardar Patel College of Engineering. She entered the entertainment industry through modeling and advertising, but her real breakthrough came with the music video "Kaanta Laga" (2002) - a sexy remix that went viral across India, earning her the nickname "Kaanta Laga Girl". The song quickly became a pop culture phenomenon in India.
According to her, the first 7,000 INR payment from the video was the leverage that helped her convince her parents, even though they were quite worried at first, they finally let her try a new path.
After gaining fame with "Kaanta Laga", Shefali made her film debut through a cameo in the Bollywood film "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" (2004), co-starring Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
In 2008, she participated in "Boogie Woogie", a reality TV series. In 2012 and 2015, she competed in a dance show with her husband Parag Tyagi. In 2018, she starred in ALT Balaji's web series "Baby Come Naa". In 2019, she participated in "Bigg Boss 13" - a popular reality show season, contributing to affirming the prestige of television.
Shefali once commented that the change in the entertainment industry, especially thanks to OTT, has given her more opportunities to act differently, exploring more diverse genres compared to the "item girl" era, which was limited to supporting roles that looked beautiful but lacked inner depth.
Shefali grew up in a Gujarati family. She was married to musician Harmeet Singh (of Meet Bros) from 2004â2009, but later divorced due to incompatibility and allegations of violence.
In 2014, she married actor Parag Tyagi, whom she met at a friendâs party. They are happily married, appearing on reality TV shows together and building a family. The couple has supported each other through both their careers and health crises: Shefali has openly battled epilepsy since the age of 15, while Parag suffered the loss of his father in 2020.
She is about 1.65 m tall, has ash brown hair, gray eyes, and a sexy body that stands out in "Kaanta Laga". Shefali is also a healthy person, loves dancing, swimming, traveling and taking care of pets (she has a pug). She also has two small tattoos - a heart with wings on her back and a flock of birds on her left arm. In addition, she is active on social networks (TikTok, Instagram), sharing dance videos and health trends - a close approach to fans.
Shefali Jariwala is a Bollywood sex symbol and television talent who revived the remix genre in the early 21st century and inspired audiences with her battle with illness and honesty on reality TV. She left an impression on audiences with her ash-toned hair, dreamy eyes, seductive dance moves and strong spirit.
