LyLy: The most struggling hit-maker in Vpop and her turning point as the female lead in Tran Thanh's film.

Currently holding the title of the highest-grossing Lunar New Year film of 2026, Tran Thanh's "Tho Oi!" (Oh, Little Rabbit!) not only attracts audiences with its thrilling elements and novel horror style but also with the densely interwoven metaphorical details throughout the film.
Hai Linh was cheated on.
One of the most striking details appears in the climax when Nhật Hạ (Pháo) goes to Phong's (Vĩnh Đam) and Hải Linh's (LyLy) house for a three-way confrontation. In the frame, Hải Linh is sitting in front of a decorative model with a sharp red horn. This image is seen as a direct allusion to her being cheated on.
The horns not only symbolize betrayal but also foreshadow an impending emotional shock. Soon after, Nhat Ha's revelations exposed Phong's true nature: he was deceiving his wife, engaging in an affair, and even planning to give money to the third party to leave.
Hai Lan and Son were injured.
In the early part of the film, the audience is introduced to the couple Son (Quoc Anh) and Hai Lan (Van Mai Huong). The scene where Son accidentally throws a barbecue tongs at his wife's forehead, seemingly just for fun, is actually the "seed" of a series of conflicts that follow. The wound on Hai Lan's forehead is similar to the scene later when Son is hit on the head by an object thrown by his wife, causing him to bleed, due to jealousy.
The repetition of the location of the injury, like a cause-and-effect cycle, shows that the strained relationship had existed for a long time and escalated to an irreparable point.
"Vo Gia"
In this couple's case, the way names are saved in phone contacts becomes an interesting plot twist. Hai Lan is heartbroken to see her saved as "Old Wife," believing it's proof that Son no longer loves her. However, in the show "Sister's Shoulder," Son asserts that his wife is "priceless." It turns out the saved name "Vo Gia" without accents means "Priceless."
A small difference in characters can create a huge emotional gap. This detail emphasizes the message: sometimes even small misunderstandings can destroy trust if not explained promptly.
The fate of Phong (Vinh Dam)
The climax of the tragedy occurs at the end of the film when Tran Kim (Tran Thanh) goes to Phong and Hai Linh's house to seek revenge, believing that Hai Linh was the reason for his breakup with Nhat Ha. After a tense confrontation, Phong loses his life.
In fact, this death was "hinted at" from the very beginning. During a stroll by the lake in Da Lat, when Hai Linh asked, "Do you love me?", Phong replied, "I love you to death." That seemingly romantic promise turned out to be an omen. When he could no longer love in the right way, that was when his words came true in the most tragic way.
Rabbit mask
The rabbit is a recurring metaphor throughout the work. Right from the opening scene in the pine forest, when Hai Linh and Phong are together, a white rabbit unexpectedly appears. By the end of the film, a stuffed rabbit is placed next to Hai Linh when she hears the truth from Nhat Ha.
Rabbits represent innocence but also unpredictability. This animal has the ability to observe what's behind it without turning its head – a metaphor for characters always being surrounded by their past and hidden aspects. Rabbits also symbolize fertility and family, something Phong feels lacking in his marriage and unconsciously seeks in Nhat Ha.
Scenes of 18+ in the film
Even the intimate scenes in the film are treated as a layer of added meaning rather than simply to shock. Phong has intimate scenes with both Hai Linh and Nhat Ha, and the common thread is that he always stands behind his co-star.
This camera angle reveals the male character's desire for control and dominance. He can't gain the upper hand against the strong-willed Hai Linh, but he easily takes the lead alongside the fragile Nhat Ha. This contrast clearly portrays Phong's selfish nature and his need to assert his ego.
Tran Thanh invited Phao and LyLy to play the female lead, but netizens demanded that Phuong Anh Dao be replaced.
