The cast and crew of the movie "Rabbit, Hey!" directed and produced by Tran Thanh has officially been introduced. The six main actors have become a hot topic online, especially after the "hundred billion" budget claim.
This event fully revealed the six key figures of the project, including: Tran Thanh, Phao, Lyly , Vinh Dam, Quoc Anh, and Van Mai Huong. In addition, the supporting cast also features many familiar names such as Ali Hoang Duong, Phap Kieu, Ngoc Nguyen, Quynh Anh Shyn, and Ngoc Hoa.
In fact, even before the official announcement, some faces had already been "guessed correctly" by the audience. In the previously released trailer, Tran Thanh and Lyly were revealed in important roles, while Phao, although her face was hidden, her distinctive voice and demeanor led many to believe she would be in the film. Vinh Dam and Quoc Anh also made brief appearances in behind-the-scenes clips, fueling speculation about their participation. Only Van Mai Huong remained a complete mystery, kept secret by the team until the last minute. The singer's appearance at the showcase therefore became a special highlight, causing a big surprise for the media and fans.
Tran Thanh revealed that the reason he chose the three singers and new faces to participate in this film was because they convinced him during the casting round that they were the most suitable for the roles. At the same time, Tran Thanh couldn't hide his excitement, showering Van Mai Huong with praise. The director shared: "I think she will be a dark horse this year." This introduction immediately piqued the audience's curiosity about the role and the singer's acting abilities in her first major film project.
According to the production team, "Thỏ Ơi!" (Oh, Bunny!) is set in a special talk show where the character "Sister Bo Vai," played by Lyly, takes on the role of host. Here, anonymous guests appear one after another to share the events and secrets of their lives. The character Thỏ, played by Pháo , is a haunting case, as she recounts a toxic relationship with her lover ( Trấn Thành ). Besides the three characters whose personalities and stories have been partially revealed, the roles of Quốc Anh , Vĩnh Đam, and Văn Mai Hương remain a secret, further piquing audience curiosity.
At the press conference launching the project, Tran Thanh officially confirmed that "Tho Oi!" will be released during the Lunar New Year of 2026. The main cast consists of six names familiar to the general audience, but it has sparked considerable debate. Among them, only Quoc Anh has an acting background and previously participated in Tran Thanh's film "Bo Tu Bao Thu". The remaining faces, especially Phao, Lyly, and Van Mai Huong, all come from the music field and are almost trying their hand at acting for the first time, yet they take on leading roles in a major project.
Many viewers are skeptical about the success of Tran Thanh's 2026 Lunar New Year film project. This is because Tran Thanh previously achieved great success with "Mai," starring Phuong Anh Dao. Most of his successful projects have been led by established, experienced actors. Tran Thanh's choice of mostly amateur actors has raised concerns that the film might not attract enough audiences to the theaters.
However, the "billion-dollar director" asserted that the casting was based entirely on suitability for the character. He shared that all the actors had gone through a rigorous casting process and convinced him with their ability to embody the role, not because of their name or fame.
