The military enlistment season has arrived and people have had the opportunity to discuss some Vietnamese artists who have never fulfilled this noble duty, including Dam Vinh Hung. The male singer has also openly shared about it.
In Korea, it is mandatory and not uncommon for idols or celebrities to join the military, but in Vietnam, this is quite rare. The number of celebrities who have actually joined the army is very small. In general, each person has their own reasons.
One of the most famous singers in Vietnamese showbiz, Dam Vinh Hung, once explained why he did not perform military service like many other young men. Specifically, Mr. Dam said: "Talking about this with Hung is a problem. When I was of military age, Hung did not live in a certain place.
The whole family temporarily lived at his grandmother's house, so they did not have a household registration. Many incidents happened to Hung, so he lived here and there. By the time Hung was able to get a household registration in Ho Chi Minh City, he was no longer young.
Meanwhile, Cao Thai Son - another famous name in the Vietnamese music industry has a more common reason. The male singer revealed: "When I was still of military age, Son was studying. At the age of 18, Son took the entrance exam to Hanoi University of Business Administration and then continued to Ho Chi Minh City to study at Hung Vuong University. Since the age of 19, Son has been singing. Maybe because he had to study in Hanoi and then Ho Chi Minh City, Son did not have to join the army."
Instead of performing military service, many Vietnamese stars are now "enlisting" but in a special way, which is participating in the game show "Sao Nhap Ngu". There are many famous people working in many different fields such as Do Mixi, Hoa Minzy, Miss Thuy Tien... who have participated in this program.
"Sao Nhap Ngu" is the first military reality TV show in Vietnam, filmed for many seasons with a famous cast. When participating, they will experience living, eating and real challenges in a military training environment.
Returning to Dam Vinh Hung, the male singer is a name that has been mentioned a lot on social networks recently. The serious accident that led to the loss of several toes and the lawsuit with billionaire Gerard Williams made him the subject of much discussion. While this noise has not passed, another headache has come.
Accordingly, on the evening of February 13, Dam Vinh Hung attracted attention when he posted a complaint about being impersonated to be scammed. On his personal Facebook, the male singer wrote: "The police are arresting a lot of people! Anyone who has been lured by them, please report to the police and submit this evidence to the police!
Remember to save their links, including emails! There's nothing that the Vietnamese police can't find! Dam Vinh Hung has never collected any money from any fan, ever! Everyone should be careful! Scams are getting more and more sophisticated. They even set prices for each card level!".
Through investigation, it was found that someone had created a Facebook account identical to Dam Vinh Hung and sent messages to the male singer's fans, mentioning the purchase of cards. This type of card was advertised as providing special privileges for fans. The lowest card class was worth 30 million VND, the most expensive card was up to 160 million VND. Many people who were not vigilant were cheated out of their money.
This is not the first time Dam Vinh Hung has encountered this situation. Just last January, the male singer was impersonated by some pages that used his name to trick audiences into investing money. Or in 2023, he said that bad guys created fake Facebook accounts to lure and defraud him of money.
The singer of Xin Loi Tinh Yeu has repeatedly clarified that he only uses one personal page named "Dam Vinh Hung" with more than one million followers. In addition, there is a fanpage with the owner's confirmation stamp with 6.5 million followers. Other accounts and social networking pages are all "fake" but many people are still fooled because they are gullible.
