On the afternoon of December 29, in an interview with reporter Bich Tuyen, the California Supreme Court, USA, approved the request for an order to extend the time to respond to the lawsuit from Mr. Gerard Williams by 60 days. According to Bich Tuyen, the reason for this is because her husband has added 2 more lawyers to the lawsuit and asked for an extension to complete some other documents. She also revealed that the new lawyers will take time to update the lawsuit file as well as study the accompanying evidence. Thus, from 4 lawyers, the couple from Can Tho now has 6 lawyers for the lawsuit.

Dung Taylor - who regularly updates the status of the lawsuit, commented that the extension period (60 days) is also the time for both sides to add "weapons" to their battle. Thu Phuong's husband said that Dam Vinh Hung may have left Vietnam during this time.

However, whether Mr. Dam returns or not will not affect the lawsuit, because he and Bich Tuyen and her husband both have their own lawyers to handle the legal matters. Initially, Dam Vinh Hung requested to withdraw his lawsuit against Mr. Gerard Williams, demanding compensation of 50 million USD. Later, the US court rejected the singer's request to withdraw the lawsuit and the lawsuit had to continue. As for singer Bich Tuyen and her husband, they filed a counter-suit.
