In recent days, people in the northern provinces have suffered heavy losses due to prolonged rain and floods. Faced with this difficult situation, many Vietnamese artists have not hesitated to call for help from the community to support people in flooded areas.
Singer Le Quyen is one of the artists who organized a charity concert at a tea room in Ho Chi Minh City to raise funds to help people in need.
Le Quyen's concert quickly attracted the attention of a large audience, receiving many compliments for the meaningful actions of her and her colleagues. Besides the compliments, some netizens also left tactless comments.
Notably, there was a comment sent to Le Quyen with the content: "Artists who do charity should make statements".
Before this comment, Le Quyen responded very harshly.
"Let's go somewhere else, it's tiring, we're not calling for donations here, so why do we have to pay? My tea room, artists come to sing, audiences buy tickets to watch music shows, how much the ticket money is donated to everyone, we give each other the money to divide into many places, completely different.
Even if I get a statement, I won't be at peace, so I'm not stupid, I'll just do it as it comes, so it's better, if you have a brain to think, think before you type," Le Quyen responded to a netizen's comment asking for a statement.
In another comment, Le Quyen also frankly stated her views on charity work. Accordingly, the female singer does not make it public when doing it.
"There are many ways to do it, Quyen never announces when she does it herself, this is a program that Quyen does in her tea room with her colleagues so she shares it publicly. Quyen has never called for help, her tea room is hers with her colleagues, the ticket money collected helps people everywhere, that's for the best.
In charity work, if you trust someone, you can send them to them, or do it yourself, otherwise, you can't. It's not that I don't say that people don't do it," Le Quyen confided.
Le Quyen's sharing about charity work has received the approval of many audiences. Many netizens believe that charity is a sensitive matter, especially after the scandals many years ago, so artists now choose to do charity without making it public, donating as much as they can to avoid problems arising later.
