The Korean entertainment industry has never been hotter than it is now, when continuously witnessing the increasingly tense confrontations between three famous figures such as girl group NewJeans, Jungkook and HYBE.
Specifically, Jungkook posted a photo of his pet dog Bam via the account @bowwow_bam, with the caption, "The artist is not guilty." He also added five heart emojis to the text, which coincide with the colors used by the NewJeans members during their promotions.
After much speculation, this post was confirmed to be from Jungkook to show support for his junior.
A post and comments have recently gone viral online on Jungkook's post supporting NewJeans. The post and comments were taken from the BLIND app, a messaging platform used by verified company employees.
A staff member's post was verified by HYBE as a post on Bam's Instagram account with the caption "um." Comments followed expressing their frustration with the situation, with many directed at Jungkook. Some of the comments implied that he did not care about the company's employees and appeared to directly insult him.
HYBE boss is not to be outdone. After discovering that JungKook's post was spreading at a dizzying speed on social media, HYBE spoke up and said: "We are verifying the artist's true intentions."
A few minutes after HYBE's statement, JungKook continued to make a new move. Specifically, the male singer posted another picture of his pet dog on Instagram, with the caption: "Don't use them". JungKook's share surprised the online community because of his decisiveness, believing that the male singer was completely on NewJeans' side in this "war" with HYBE.
At this time, many fans were confused, suspecting that Jungkook's account was hacked. However, on the same afternoon, BTS's management company, Big Hit Music, issued a second statement, clarifying Jungkook's message.
The company explained: "We have confirmed that he posted the article with the viewpoint: Young artists should not be dragged into conflicts and used as shields." This also indirectly denied that Jungkook's account was hacked. Jungkook's actions were later supported by many netizens. They said that the youngest member of BTS had a brave attitude, not afraid of the management company but dared to speak his own opinion.
Previously, on the afternoon of September 11, NewJeans caused a "shock" in Korean showbiz when they livestreamed to "expose" the management company HYBE. The group even requested to restore the position of "mother" - CEO Min Hee Jin before September 25.
However, on the morning of September 12, HYBE held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders and appointed CEO Lee Jae Sang. The CEO stated, "It may take time, but we are responding calmly and following our principles. HYBE is a company that adheres to principles and pursues management with integrity. There will be no change in this principle. Looking back now, the one who upholds principles is the ultimate winner."
A former PR director for Big Hit Music (the agency that manages BTS and TXT) also spoke out against HYBE for firing Min Hee Jin. The former director criticized HYBE for losing its roots and forgetting its humble beginnings.
In addition, according to lawyer Seon Mun Jong's calculations, if NewJeans members unilaterally terminate the contract without proving that HYBE has violated the contract, the group will have to compensate the contract up to 600 billion won (equivalent to about 10,980 billion VND).
