Singer Rosé (Blackpink) recently became the cover gir.l for iD magazine. In the interview, she talked about her music career, the production process of her upcoming album "rosie", and the difficulties and pressures that Kpop idols face.
While talking about idol dating and other strict standards of the K-pop industry, the interviewer asked Rosé what she thought about the recent uprising by the group NewJeans against HYBE Group. Rosé raised her eyebrows and shook her head slightly: "I want to talk about positive things. I love these girls so much."
The audience thinks that Rosé does not want to mention HYBE's conflict at this time, but still shows her support for NewJeans. The Blackpink member is praised for her smart and delicate response.
NewJeans sent a letter to management company ADOR stating that they would terminate their exclusive contract if major violations were not corrected within 14 days.
In it, NewJeans mentioned HYBE's internal report stating that NewJeans needs to be "eliminated" and a new one created. The members requested ADOR to take appropriate measures to deal with HYBE's decision. Recently, when receiving the Daesang trophy at the 2024 Korea Grand Music Awards, NewJeans thanked fans for giving the group the motivation to overcome difficulties.
"We don't know how long we'll be NewJeans, but I think the bond between the five of us and Bunnies is indestructible, so let's stick together until the end," Hanni said.
Finally, Danielle declared: "Even though we are no longer NewJeans, NewJeans will never di.e." According to Koreaboo, when NewJeans spoke, Soyeon - leader of (G)I-DLE and member Sieun of StayC were seen shedding tears under the artist seats.
Minji shared, "It's been 2 years since our debut. In the past 2 years, we met a lot of people and learned a lot through many experiences. Today as well, we think this is a place where we can learn new things. Thank you very much.
Over the past 2 years, we've had some fun moments, late nights where we stayed up talking to each other. We've also gone through some problems... But through these difficult times, I think NewJeans has become a stronger and closer band.
Thanks to the Bunnies (NewJeans fan community) who have always been there to support us, we were able to do our best to prepare and have fun in everything. The managers and staff have also helped us a lot, really thank you everyone.
And to our CEO (Min Hee Jin), who always gives us the strength to move forward. I don't know if you're following, but I want to say thank you. In the future, NewJeans will continue to explore new things to create better music, so please look forward to it and support the group."
NewJeans's sharing has made fans extremely confused and worried. Most opinions expressed concern that if they leave HYBE, the group will likely disband and will not be able to continue using the NewJeans brand. Because of the current situation, the relationship between NewJeans and HYBE is extremely tense.
Additionally, if NewJeans were to leave the company and go independent, there would be the issue of having to give up their group name and related intellectual property (IP). Since ADOR and HYBE own NewJeansâ IP, the group would likely need to promote under a new name if they were to terminate their management contract.
Although the group had to pay a high price to terminate their contract with HYBE, the majority of Korean netizens are encouraging the group to leave the company. Because after HYBE's recent scandals with Min Hee Jin and NewJeans, fans believe that the group will also have a "hard time surviving" if they continue to stay with the company.
