Through the official page, J97 Entertainment - the management company of singer Jack - officially announced the production of lightsticks. The post was shared on entertainment forums, attracting the attention of netizens.
"We understand that waiting for an update on the production progress has caused a lot of anxiety and sincerely apologize for this delay," J97 Entertainment affirmed, "there was no act of deceptio.n or taking advantage of fans' trust when selling the lightstick product."
Jack's company said "the product is currently still in production overseas."
"For those who need a refund, please send a request via email to the company's official headquarters. We will promptly process it as soon as possible.
For those who still believe in and continue to wait for the product, we would like to respectfully send a special gift along with the lightstick as a thank you and apology for this wait," the company added.
Regarding VTV 's report, Jack cited the law on counter-attacking national television stations.
J97's side said that the person who answered VTV's phone did not represent Jack or the company. The male singer's side said that the act of recording without permission was inappropriate:
In the video posted by the 24h Showbiz page, there is a recording of a call between a reporter and a person believed to be a representative of J97 Entertainment.
However, we would like to confirm: this person is not part of the communications department, has no authority to speak, and the recording clearly shows that you are an employee of J97 Promotion - a unit under J97 Entertainment, in charge of commercial and artist booking. Therefore, you do not represent the company legally or in communications.
During the call, the person repeatedly refused to answer in detail and only gave general advice: "Please follow the page for official updates." Using this dialogue in a TV news report without clearly verifying the authority of the person answering is something we believe is not really appropriate.
Before posting this announcement, J97 Entertainment had a private discussion with VTV24's team via email at 2:40 AM on May 31. We sent another reminder email at around 6:00 AM. However, as of the time this article was posted (after 8:00 AM), J97 Entertainment still had not received any response from VTV24 even though we were the ones who received the email first from you.
[Edit: VTV24 was the one who proactively sent the first email to J97 Entertainment at 2:18 am, I then sent 2 consecutive emails at 2:42 - 6:00 to wait for their response]
Some misunderstandings need to be clarified with the 24h Movement program:
1. The reporter who made the call did not ask to verify the speaker's qualifications, nor did he contact J97 Entertainment's official media department to request a representative response.
2. Throughout the entire call, the answering personnel were not informed that they were working for the press for an interview, and were not informed that the content would be used in a television news report.
We would like to quote Clause 1 - Article 40 of the 2016 Press Law:
"When interviewing, reporters must inform the interviewee in advance of the purpose, content, and questions of the interview."
From the above details, J97 Entertainment hopes that press agencies - especially official channels like VTV - will accompany us in the spirit of transparency, professionalism and respect for media procedures."
At the end of the article, Jack apologized to the buyers: "Once again, I would like to send my sincere apologies to the customers who have had an unsatisfactory experience while ordering the lightstick product. This is something we take seriously and hope to fix as soon as possible.
We always appreciate all customers who have ordered our products. Speculation on social networks that the characters in the news are "anti-fans" is baseless and biased.
More than anyone else, J97 Entertainment â as well as the artists we manage â understand very well the feeling of being misunderstood and condemned by public opinion. We hope that all behavior on social networks will always be in the spirit of civility and mutual respect."
However, after Jack spoke up, people passed around a photo of what was said to be an email from J97 company informing fans that the lightsticks were on their way to Vietnam. The authenticity of the information is unclear, but many people wondered why the email was sent in December 2024, but until now (almost 6 months later), these lightsticks have not yet arrived in Vietnam.
Jack was put on a special news bulletin by VTV, suspected of swindling lightstick sales for 3.6 billion? Bảo Nam07:29:07 31/05/2025According to the 24-hour news bulletin on May 30 on VTV, singer Jack's (J97) company was reported to have earned 3.6 billion VND from selling 3,600 limited edition lightsticks, but after nearly a year, it still has not delivered to customers.
