Many people present on the flight were "ecstatic" when they saw a snake crawling around in the luggage compartment. The flight attendant's reaction was surprising.
CNN reported that the incident that frightened passengers and crew members occurred on January 13. On flight number FD3015 of Air Asia, departing from Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok to Phuket island, Thailand.
According to Daily Mail, a reptile believed to be a snake with a length of 60cm was present on the flight. A passenger said he was the one who discovered the black and white striped snake crawling out from the roof of the luggage compartment.
Passengers sitting in this position were extremely frightened and left their seats immediately. He stood in the aisle of the plane with a worried expression, then told the flight attendants and staff on the trip for help.
"I was sitting neatly in my seat when I saw a snake. I inherently don't like crawling animals, let alone them, specifically a snake right above my head.
I've watched movies and seen scenes similar to this. But I never thought this could happen to me in real life. What a strange start to my trip to the beach," said another tourist sitting near the spot where the snake appeared.
After receiving notice from passengers, flight attendants quickly approached the area where the snake appeared to examine the situation. One of the crew members bravely approached and tried to lure it into a plastic bottle but failed.
Finally, the male flight attendant decided to use a plastic bag and a plastic bottle to push the snake inside and then tie it tightly and take it away. Crew members said it was not determined whether the snake was poisonous or not, but it was kept and stored in a cupboard on the plane.
The owner of the clip recording the entire incident spread online and shared: "Snakes can also fly! Everything happened above my head, they found a snake on the plane. It happened while the plane was flying." begin landing".
An online account also quickly left a comment: "Maybe this is a pet snake that a passenger secretly brought on the plane. But how did the animal get through the security scanner?"
The incident caused chaos on the plane's cabin, but the flight still landed as scheduled without any major trouble. Immediately after that, ground staff boarded the plane and checked all carry-on luggage to ensure no guests brought snakes or other animals onto the plane.
According to a report, the snake mentioned above was identified as a type of water snake, with the scientific name Dryocalamus davisonii. This snake is not poisonous and does not tend to attack humans. The airline has not yet determined how it got on the plane.
In fact, this is not the first time someone has discovered reptiles appearing on an Air Asia plane. In February 2022, a python was found on one of this airline's domestic flights in Malaysia, from the capital Kuala Lumpur to the state of Sabah. When the incident occurred, the plane had to be diverted to Kuching International Airport in Sarawak state.
At that time, videos and photos of the incident were widely shared on social networks, showing this reptile crawling through the plane's lighting equipment. "This is a very rare incident that occurs on any aircraft," a representative of Air Asia airline affirmed.
