The victim is a woman (87 years old, residing in Long Yen village, Binh Long commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province). Investigation of NN's medical history showed that on August 11, 2023, the victim had symptoms of fatigue, loss of appetite, fear of water, and drooling, and was taken by family members to Binh Son District Medical Center with a diagnosis of NN. suspected rabies.

Next, Mr. N. was transferred to Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital at 11:99 p.m. and continued to be diagnosed with suspected rabies. At 7:00 a.m. on August 13, 2023, the patient admitted to Da Nang General Hospital was also diagnosed as above and sent home. At 6:00 p.m. the same day, this person passed away.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Quang Ngai Provincial Center for Disease Control directed Binh Son District Medical Center to coordinate with Binh Long Commune Medical Station to carry out treatment activities.

In cases of being bitten, scratched, licked by a dog suspected of having rabies or exposed to open wounds or mucous membranes exposed to the patient's saliva, the patient is instructed to go to the rabies vaccination point for examination and preventive treatment. room promptly. Most recently, a 31-year-old man in Ha Tien City who was bitten on the hand by a dog who was not vaccinated also passed away with signs of rabies. Family members said the victim was bitten by a domestic dog more than a month ago. Due to subjective reasons, he did not vaccinate against rabies and gave the animals to others for slaughter.

On November 1, the victim showed signs of rabies such as fear of the wind, difficulty drinking water, destroying furniture, burning the house and attacking relatives. After that, he was taken to the hospital but did not cooperate so the doctor could not examine him. The next evening, the patient died.
