Dinh Huong: Quietly active in the arts, constantly compared to Huong Tram

Dinh Huong had a period of hiding and not appearing publicly, however she still worked hard on her artistic activities by composing. It was not until last year that she had the opportunity to return with a music product with a completely new style.

Dinh Huong was born in 1987 in Quang Tri. She participated in The Voice Vietnam 2012 in singer Ho Ngoc Ha's team and won the runner-up position (Huong Tram was the champion). However, compared to singers of the same time such as Huong Tram, Bao Anh, Truc Nhan, Dinh Huong was a bit quieter.

In the past, Dinh Huong has been working in the arts quite quietly, only occasionally releasing a few songs. In addition, she pursues business. After more than 10 years of working in the arts, the singer admitted that she felt she was not good enough, so she wanted to focus on developing her music and using music to speak for herself. There were times when she felt sad and wanted to give up. However, after all, she realized that music was what she wanted to pursue to the end.

Recently, Dinh Huong attracted attention when she returned with a new album, after more than 8 years since her last double album. The first "shot" for this comeback is the single titled "The most beautiful masterpiece of God" composed by Dinh Huong herself.

In the song, the female singer uses two contrasting, constantly changing vocal tones, one gentle and seductive and the other ghostly and mysterious. In particular, Dinh Huong's new photo series also made many audiences admire. After a period of absence, the female singer returned with a ghostly beauty, praised for being increasingly sex.y. She sent the message: "Each person, since being born into this world, is inherently a masterpiece of God."

Dinh Huong said that her journey of more than a decade in the arts was a time for her to discover and understand herself. She compared herself to the fusion of "a leopard patiently hiding and cultivating but containing the proud desire of a moth waiting for the day to transform to become more brilliant". Previously, Dinh Huong had released self-composed songs such as "We love each other peacefully", "If today is the last day to love"... She had received a number of music nominations at the Green Wave and Dedication awards...

For over 10 years, Dinh Huong has chosen to work quietly, still writing music regularly, occasionally releasing some songs. Compared to colleagues such as Huong Tram, Bao Anh, Truc Nhan..., Dinh Huong admits that she is less prominent in terms of media effects, lacking hit songs. She sometimes felt sad, plus some other incidents, and wanted to give up. However, after all, she realized that music was always what she longed for, what she wanted to pursue to the end.

Dinh Huong said she was conflicted in her thoughts and actions. On one hand, she wanted to get closer to the audience, but on the other hand, she was afraid to express herself. For many years, she chose to live freely, doing what she liked rather than pleasing the audience and chasing after showbiz fame.

She said: "Choice comes with a certain price. What hurts me the most is that the audience who used to love me has now left, just because they can't wait for me anymore. I used to be sad about that but then I understood that it is the law of life. At this time, I can't ask my fans to come back. I only know that I will use new, more intimate music to conquer the audience."

The singer likened herself to a hidden leopard, waiting for the right time to rise up. She said: "It's time for me to reap the sweet fruits of what I've been preparing for a long time. I will have to be the leader of the herd, instead of blending in with many other leopards." Dinh Huong said that in early 2023, she will launch her biggest project since entering the profession, hoping that the audience will see her "transformation".

Talking about her career income, Dinh Huong admitted that music helps her have a stable life. However, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the singer's perspective changed. She believes that life is an unpredictable journey, there are times when something difficult and unpredictable will come and interrupt all pre-planned routes. It is also from this thought that the singer decided to try her hand at business.

"When doing business, I realized that the more meaningful thing in my life is that I have many opportunities to help the people I love. And after those journeys of giving love, I return to love myself with music," the 9X singer shared.

Regarding being compared to champion Huong Tram, Dinh Huong hopes the audience "don't compare, just enjoy". She added: "To me, Huong Tram is a rare voice in contemporary Vietnamese pop ballad music. Whatever is beautiful, whatever is rare, I just want to admire and cherish. So why compare, I don't possess those things, but I have something different".

Recently, singer Dinh Huong attracted attention when she released the project God's Most Beautiful Masterpiece, composed by herself. It is known that this is the "starting shot" for the album Black Magic Woman scheduled to be released at the end of November. In the newly released song, Dinh Huong uses two contrasting shades, sometimes seductive, sometimes mysterious. The 8X singer chose to release the MV on her birthday, hoping to convey the message: "Each person, since birth in this world, is inherently a masterpiece of God."
