Recently, the film "Going Back to the Sunny Land" has received great attention from the audience when it aired on prime time on VTV3. After more than a week of release, the film has caused a lot of controversy on social networks, mainly revolving around the female lead, Duong.
In the film, Duong, who suffered a heartbreak in love when she was young, is now a single mother. She and her son moved to Bao Loc, where she worked as an assistant to Mr. Phan, a friend of her father. The two of them loved each other very much. Duong not only took care of work but also helped her boss with housework, when Mr. Phan had lived alone for many years due to disagreements with his son.
Ly's life was peaceful until Uncle Phan's son - Phong (Binh An) returned to the country. The boss's son and the future successor of the company and the assistant hate.d each other at first sight. It was thought to be a lovely love story, bringing laughter to the audience, but the relationship of the main couple only brought viewers frustration and annoyance, especially in Duong's behavior.
Even though Duong did not really respect Phong when she witnessed Uncle Phan living alone for many years, she still should have acted properly. Because Phong was more or less the boss's son, and was even the one temporarily running the company during the time his father was sick. The way Duong constantly lectured, showed her hatred and contempt for Phong, was considered by the audience to be too rud.e and condescending. This character is also very bad in the eyes of the audience when she perceives and evaluates the people around her in a one-sided and subjective way.
Part of the reason why the character Duong makes viewers uncomfortable is because of Hoang Khanh Ly's acting. In reality, on screen, there are many bad characters, even villains, but still make the audience excited because of the actors' top-notch acting. Many actors also change their lives, become more loved thanks to bad characters. However, Khanh Ly could not do this. She received a lot of criticism because of her weak performance.
Before the role of Duong, Khanh Ly received a storm of compliments for her impressive supporting role in Di Giua Troi Ruc Ro. It seems that the sudden promotion to female lead has made Khanh Ly "uneasy". She is not really capable of taking on this role. Her expressions are still quite forced and, more importantly, her voice lacks emotion, sometimes as if she is reciting a lesson. This makes the character Duong lose points in the eyes of viewers, making the audience "hesitant" to not want to find a reason to defend the female lead. Of course, the film has only been on air for less than 2 weeks, it is still a bit early to conclude anything, so hopefully in the later developments of the film, when she gets used to the character and her role, Khanh Ly will have a more pleasant performance.
Going to the sunny land tells the story of Anh Duong - a gir.l whose love life was ruined and she became a single mother at a very young ag.e. After abandoning the bad man, Anh Duong and her mother took on the debt of gratitude and went to Bao Loc to work as assistants for Mr. Phan's company. The journey of healing seemed to be going smoothly until Dinh Phong - Mr. Phan's son - had to return home to take over the family business after a long time living abroad.
A series of "heaven and earth" misunderstandings happened to Dinh Phong and Anh Duong, making the two of them like two opposite poles of magnets. In addition, Tuong Van - the "rainy sister" who is infatuated with Dinh Phong and always tries to eliminat.e Anh Duong, the relationship of the three people becomes more and more complicated.
Tuong Van's schemes and tricks, along with the dark past between the parents, made the couple feel suffocated under a myriad of pressures. Only when Mr. Phan fell ill at a difficult time did Dinh Phong have the opportunity to approach and understand Anh Duong's heart behind her "rough" and thorny exterior.
Faced with injuries, challenges and pains that are not easy to share, Phong and Duong must learn to face and understand each other's feelings. Both gradually realize that love is also a lesson in accepting one's own weaknesses, loving and caring for oneself. That journey may be full of challenges, but each wound healed by tolerance is a valuable lesson, helping both of them become stronger, wiser and ready to welcome the future with open hearts.
