Haunting experiences when playing a prisoner

The filming scene is not flashy, but working in the prison also gives Danh Thai very special experiences:

"When I took on the role, many people kept asking me if I abstained, I replied no because I consider this a job, a job requirement! But after experiencing the emotions of a prisoner, I really haunted.

First, when entering the context of a prison, at the request of the camp, we will have to leave all our phones and personal belongings outside. Regarding the prisoners' costumes, if the prisoners have not been sentenced, the detainees will still wear civilian clothes, and if the prisoners wear a striped shirt, it means they have been sentenced.

At first, I thought it was simply shooting, so when I changed into a striped shirt to enter the camp, I felt very normal. When I really entered the camp, the quiet, gloomy atmosphere began to affect my psyche.

To enter the cell, you have to go through about 3 or 4 layers of doors. Every 1 layer of doors closes, 2 layers of doors close... the psychology is a bit heavier.

You just imagine the space is extremely quiet, not even a shadow can be seen, only the sound of the iron door screeching.

Each layer of the prison's doors closed, in the quiet space the sound of the iron door sounded even more terrifying. It was just filming, but my mentality at that time was really heavy."

But it was also while playing the role of a prisoner that Danh Thai had quite special career memories:

"In a completely closed cell, there are only openings for air circulation. So when the scene ended, when I got out of the cell, I also felt extremely happy.

Even when filming the scene where Le Van Ty was allowed to go to the room to visit his wife, even if it was just contact with other people through a perforated glass, it was also a different atmosphere compared to when he was sitting in the cell.

It is these emotions that make me express my fondness for loved ones, the torment of guilt in each scene, which is sharper and more realistic.

The time I filmed The Judge there was a scene in the prison. When I went into the cell to prepare to shoot, it was right at the time when the prisoners went out to sunbathe.

An inmate stood up and ran up to me and said hello: Hello, Mr. Ali, are you here to film? I was surprised because this is the name of the character that I am filming. So I asked: Do you also watch the Judge?

The inmate excitedly said he was a "crazy fan" of the Judge and had only been arrested here for a few days for gambling. See, these memories probably not many actors have!"

Danh Thai: Hard work in private life

Danh Thai in his private life also encountered many troubles. The first is marriage, he is opposed by his wife's family because of his "record" specializing in the role of villains. But after persuasion, he was also approved by his wife's family.

However, Danh Thai is still miserable when dealing with his daughter. According to him, every time he acted in a movie, his daughter would ask: What role do you play? When he found out, he took on the role of a villain. The two daughters said: Dad plays the villain again.
