Since the drama related to dong vermicelli broke out, social media has been divided into two factions: those who support Sung Bau products because they believe in the honesty, simplicity, and hard-working spirit of her and her husband, and those who sympathize with Mr. P's suffering of being 'left behind'.
In recent developments, Sung Bau's side posted a clip to speak up about the incident, and even posted a picture of the complaint, filed by her husband - Hang A Tu on May 24.
However, on May 26, the clip that spoke up about the incident (the content stated that Mr. P.'s vermicelli supplier, Sung Bau, only imported for a few months before Tet and stopped immediately after that, the story of forcing down prices or importing goods at 45k, "bombing goods",... that Mr. P. mentioned, Sung Bau confirmed that it was not true - PV), and the image of the complaint were both removed/hidden, for unknown reasons.
This new strange move from Sung Bau has made netizens even more curious. Many people do not understand what happened, what does this move mea.n? Has the matter been resolved satisfactorily?,... However, all of this has only stopped at the question from the online community, Sung Bau and her husband have not spoken out.
This TikToker has also turned off comments on her personal page. On her personal Facebook page with more than 212K followers, Sung Bau still sets it to public, but her most recent video was from May 22, and she has not responded to netizens' comments.
When we contacted Sung Bau, Mr. Hang A Tu, said that the family did not want to share anything more about this incident. Previously, in a previous share on TikTok, Sung Bau and his wife also said that both of them were exhausted because of the recent noise. Netizens also "spotted" many inconsistent details in Sung Bau's words about importing dong vermicelli.
Accordingly, in the most recent correction clip on her personal TikTok page (now removed), she said "I would like to confirm that I have never been able to buy at 45,000 VND/kg when selling goods". However, in previous clips when sharing about importing vermicelli from a vermicelli unit in Dien Bien on Sung Bau, she shared: "In 2022, I was able to buy small vermicelli for 45,000 VND, I could not buy large vermicelli at this price...".
The contradiction in Sung Bau's words at two different times made many netizens even more confused, demanding to "turn around".
Regarding the owner of the vermicelli supplier in Dien Bien, when we contacted him, he said: "I will continue to focus on production, improving product quality to serve consumers; will not file a lawsuit nor do I want to confront anyone."
On his personal TikTok page, Mr. P. still maintains the clips claiming to be the supplier of dong vermicelli to Sung Bau, accusing her of "betraying".
It is known that the owner of the unit supplying cassava vermicelli is the director of Hong Phuoc Cooperative in Na Tau Commune, Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province. When it was first established, the Cooperative had only 7 members, with a charter capital of only 200 million VND. Now it has 20 members, with a charter capital of 5 billion VND... Currently, the Cooperative is purchasing all cassava tubers for ethnic minorities in 8 highland communes of Dien Bien Province.
When mentioning LVP "dong rieng", everyone knows, because he is the one who "paved the way" to bring the dong rieng plant to eliminat.e hunger and reduce poverty for people in many highland communes, helping them have a prosperous life. He is also the first person to deploy the technique of making dong starch and dong vermicelli in the area, so that production and consumption become a closed chain, both ensuring the purchase price of agricultural products and creating jobs for local people.
In early 2006, Mr. P. traveled alone to China to learn how to process arrowroot, from harvesting to processing into finished products. He told himself, if they can do it, I can do it too. Thinking and doing, Mr. P. immediately bought 5 tons of arrowroot seeds and brought them back to Vietnam. In the first crop, he encouraged people in the village to grow it, but many people shook their heads.
After several months of planting, the cassava yield reached 50 tons/ha. With the price Mr. P. bought from the people at 2,000 VND/kg, it gave the people an income of 100 million VND/ha, 4 times higher than growing rice.
