New information about the elderly woman asking for charity items, picking up garbage living in a tens of billions villa in Hanoi surprised many people. It is known that the elderly woman has left the villa and moved to a new place, and neighbors also expressed joy when they heard the news.
The story of Mrs. K.P (83 years old), who lives on the 1st floor of an ancient French villa on To Hien Thanh Street, Hanoi, picking up garbage and asking for charity rice every day has received a lot of attention from the public.
Recently, on April 3, reporters were in front of the villa where Mr. P lives to ask if his current life has changed since "fame" or not. However, as soon as he reached the gate, a neighbor quickly said:
" You're looking for Mr. P, aren't you? You're not home." He later said that about a week ago he saw the elderly woman carrying bags to collect garbage but did not return.
" We thought he was gone somewhere for a few days and then came back, so we didn't bother much. It wasn't until the ward brought people down to clean up the garbage 2 days later that she found out where she was going.
I heard from the head of the neighborhood and ward that he had been taken into the social protection center for care. We hear the news is all good," the man said.
According to the man, Mr. P has relatives living in the city but does not fit in, so he travels less. She lives "differently", likes to pick up garbage to fill up in the house, in the yard, does not know how to take care of herself ... so the inclusion in the center is urgent.
" In the past, people would be taken down every few meals to clean up the garbage to relieve the stench. Mr. P then went on to pick up trash and fill the house, affecting the people living in the mansion and the neighbors.
From the day she was taken away, the house was clean, and the neighborhood no longer smelled. Especially I think he will have someone to take care of, eat and sleep in moderation," the neighbor shared.
The reason this person said this was because Mr. P used to eat very strangely. Neighbors give food, when it is a bowl of bun cha, when it is a meat meal... But she didn't eat right away. Instead, she hung at the door until it was rancid to eat. She also did not sleep in the house, but took the blankets to the common toilet on the 1st floor to lie down...
" Many people think that Mr. P has a problem but living next door knows that he is very normal, even lucid and healthy compared to the age of 83. We still joke that he lived long because of his "hobby." I hope that in there he will have a proper life of old age," the man said.
Ward leader Le Dai Hanh confirmed that at the end of March 2024, Mr. P has been taken to a social protection center in Dong Anh by the city government for care and nurturing. The ward authorities then went down to the house to clean up and collect garbage for him.
Regarding her background, Mrs. P said that she is an original Hanoi girl. He studied pedagogy, had time to teach. After that, Mr. P worked at a newspaper editorial office in Hanoi as a spelling correcter. Working for a while, he took time off, so currently, Mr. P has no pension.
Every day, Mrs. P picks up bottles and collects them at home and sells them for money, earning little income. She didn't cook rice, but asked for charity rice, who gave what to eat. Although he is old, he is still lucid and has a good memory.
The 35m2 house, located on the 1st floor of the old French villa on To Hien Thanh street, was left to him by Mr. P's mother. Now that Mr. P's brothers are all gone, she herself has no husband and children, so she lives alone.
Speaking about the report that caused a stir, P said he didn't care because he had done nothing wrong. " I'm not the owner of this whole mansion, life is miserable," Mrs. P said.
Mr. P added that the government had offered to fix his house so he could move in. But she disagreed, thinking that what she made was more meaningful. She didn't want to "depend" on anyone.
