The Great Memorial Ceremony (a ceremony held exactly 24 months after the death of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh) was recently held at Phap Buu Pagoda (Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City), attracting thousands of spectators.
Hong Loan - daughter of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh shared that she, her family members and artist Binh Tinh - the late artist's adopted son organized the event with the wish that her father would rest in peace and soon be liberated.
The whole family chose Phap Buu Pagoda because of its spacious, airy space, convenient for colleagues and audiences to come and burn incense and commemorate artist Vu Linh. On this occasion, Hong Loan, Hong Ni and Binh Tinh presented 50 gifts to people in difficult circumstances. All of these gifts were taken from their personal income, not through any form of calling for sponsorship.
Not long ago, the court declared Hong Loan entitled to 85% of the total value of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh's inheritance, while Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung (artist Hong Nhung - Vu Linh's younger sister) was entitled to 15%. Hong Loan then filed an appeal, claiming that the court had determined that she was the legitimate child, the only person in the first line of inheritance of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh, so according to the regulations, she should be entitled to all of his inheritance.
"I always think of my father in everything I do, always trying to be filial, hoping that he will rest in peace. Recently, I was recognized as inheriting 85% of the assets, I am very happy, hoping that everything will be resolved quickly so that my father can rest in peace," she said.
At the end of January, after being awarded 85% of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh's assets, Hong Loan, despite receiving more, still filed an appeal. In her appeal, Vu Linh's daughter said that Ms. Hong Nhung had absolutely no contribution to the late artist Vu Linh's legacy.
The assets including the house at 5 Doan Thi Diem; the car and 3,007 square meters of land in Thu Duc City (HCMC) were created by the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh in 1991, 1995 and 1998, after he separated his household registration and no longer lived at the house on Vo Di Nguy Street, Ward 9, Go Vap District, HCMC with Mr. Vo Thanh Nhieu and Ms. Hong Nhung. Therefore, Ms. Hong Nhung did not contribute, did not manage, did not preserve, did not embellish the value of the late artist Vu Linh's legacy.
"Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court's decision that Ms. Hong Nhung contributed to my father's legacy and declared that Ms. Nhung is entitled to 15% of the total value of my father's legacy is completely baseless," Hong Loan wrote in her appeal.
In addition, Hong Loan's side believes that the court of first instance cited Precedent No. 05/2016/AL and cited fairness in resolving civil cases in her specific case, which is incorrect.
According to the precedent, "in an inheritance dispute case, there is a party who is entitled to receive a portion of the inheritance and has contributed to the management and restoration of the inheritance...". Meanwhile, Ms. Hong Nhung filed a lawsuit requesting the court to reject her status as the first-line heir and the entire inheritance belonging to the second-line heir. Therefore, when the court determined that Hong Loan was the only person belonging to the first-line heir of the late artist Vu Linh, she must be the one with full rights to inherit the entire inheritance of the late artist. The court divided 85% for Hong Loan and 15% for Ms. Hong Nhung, meaning that it determined that Ms. Hong Nhung is the party entitled to receive a portion of the inheritance.
"Mrs. Nhung's care of my grandmother (if any) is the duty of children to their parents. Mrs. Nhung is also a child, not my father's sole duty. In fact, at that time, my father worked hard to support the whole family (including Mrs. Nhung)... The Court of First Instance's consideration of Mrs. Nhung's efforts on the above grounds and arguments is completely incorrect and also beyond the scope of Mrs. Nhung's lawsuit request, which is a dispute over inheritance," Hong Loan stated.
Vu Linh's daughter and her lawyer went to court to appeal, the content of the petition attracted attention.
Gia Nhi07:05:16 18/01/2025Vo Thi Hong Loan (daughter of the late artist Vu Linh) appealed part of the verdict of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court regarding the administrative lawsuit and property claim between her and the plaintiff, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung (61 years old, younger sister of the late artist Vu Linh).
