Recently, the name Color Man (real name Do Van Buu Dien) - the boss behind Dien Quan Media Company - has been constantly mentioned on social networks in controversies related to financial issues, unpaid employee salaries and the collapse of the once-famous company.
In the midst of a sensitive time, director Khuong Dua - who used to be Color Man's "right-hand man" - spoke up about the relationship between him and his former older brother.
In a post shared on his personal page, Khuong Dua said he felt sad and somewhat regretful when witnessing Color Man falling into difficult circumstances. In particular, he emphasized that many people who had been helped and praised him, now turned their backs, even criticized him when they saw Color Man falling into trouble.
"Many Dien Quan employees still feel grateful and respect Color Man, but many people also turn their backs on him. Many people who used to work in the company and were helped by him, now seeing him in trouble, turn around and curse him. I think that's not right," Khuong Dua wrote.
Having been involved in Dien Quan's content ecosystem for more than a decade, Khuong Dua is one of the familiar faces of the YouTube channel "Khuong Dua Channel" and is the director of a series of popular shows such as "Thach Thuc Danh Hai", "Biet Tai Ti Hon", "Giong Ai Voice"... He said that he did not deny that when working with Color Man, he was also scolded, even under great pressure, but he never felt hatred or dissatisfaction.
"When I worked with Color Man, I was also scolded and cursed a lot, but I considered him as a brother and a boss. There were times when he was hot-tempered, but I didn't take it to heart. If it weren't for his training and guidance, I wouldn't be where I am today," he added.
Khuong Dua also expressed sympathy for what Color Man is facing. According to him, Dien Quan's collapse is not entirely a personal fault but the result of many objective factors, of which the COVID-19 pandemic is a big blow.
"I only regret that Color Man was in the process of developing the company when he encountered an epidemic and an incident, so he could not maintain Dien Quan. If there had not been an incident, everything would have been different," Khuong Dua acknowledged.
However, what worries him the most is not the company's collapse or the difficulties the media tycoon is facing, but the attitude of some of the people who used to work together now turning their backs, even openly attacking. He did not name any individuals, but said that "the fall of the fence and the climbing ivy" is something that people with a conscience should avoid.
"When Dien Quan was still prosperous, there were always people praising Color Man. Now, the situation is different. I don't side with anyone, I just feel sad for someone who has contributed a lot, helped many people but is now being treated like this," the director shared more on his personal YouTube channel.
Also in the clip, Khuong Dua affirmed that he has no right to interfere or change other people's minds, but he is always grateful to Color Man for the opportunities he has been given. "I don't say I'm noble, I just don't forget the favor. I used to be an ordinary employee, if it weren't for Color Man's guidance, there would be no director Khuong Dua like today," he said.
While public opinion is still divided, with some criticizing and others defending Color Man, Khuong Dua chose to remain calm, neither harshly responding nor defending one-sidedly. His point of view is considered a neutral voice, showing respect for his former teacher and boss, regardless of what is happening now.
Khuong Dua's speaking out amid the storm partly shows his courage and empathy in the context of the changing entertainment industry. As one of the key figures behind Dien Quan's success, he clearly understands the inside story and does not choose to hurt the person who once guided him.
The story of Khuong Dua and Color Man is receiving a lot of attention on social networks. Some people think that this is a humane sharing, showing loyalty in the showbiz environment with many scandals.
