Meritorious Artist Cao Minh was born in 1961 in Long An. He has spent more than 4 decades singing revolutionary and folk music, which is why Cao Minh is known as "the golden voice singing about Uncle Ho and revolutionary songs".
Meritorious Artist Cao Minh's passion for revolutionary music has been confirmed through the achievements he has received.
In 1978, he won first prize in the Tay Ninh Province Television Singing Contest. In 1979, he applied to work as an assistant at the provincial art troupe, then studied at the Vocal Music Department (Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music).
In 1988, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh won first prize at the first National Concour, won the prize for "Best Singer on the Theme of Uncle Ho", and also won the prize for "Best Folk Singer" while he was a student at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music.
Born in a poor rural area in the West, artist Cao Minh chose revolutionary and folk music, especially songs about Uncle Ho. Cao Minh admitted that he had a passion for this music genre since he started practicing singing.
According to Cao Minh, every time he performs revolutionary songs, songs written about Uncle Ho and the country, it brings him indescribable emotions.
Cao Minh always keeps the habit of waking up early to practice, so that each song he sings will convey to the listener the dreams, desires, and pride that the musician wants to convey in the songs.
Famous early with great achievements in revolutionary music, however, Cao Minh believes that this is not luck. He himself had to try and make a lot of effort with this music genre.
Meritorious Artist Cao Minh appreciates Thanh Hai's passion and enthusiasm for art. In particular, the male musician's compositions are not too complicated but contain meaningful messages. Meritorious Artist Cao Minh himself really likes to perform Thanh Hai's songs, but because of his busy schedule, this is only the second song they have collaborated on. However, he believes that in the future there will be many other opportunities to "join hands" in music together.
Meritorious Artist Cao Minh is also an artist who does art for passion. He sings without taking a salary because he believes that "music is my religion, singing in the right place, not for mone.y". The male artist is willing to create many elaborate works and programs, bringing the audience new experiences in art. That is why Meritorious Artist Cao Minh admits that he always does "earth-shattering" things. Typically, to perform the play The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the male artist was willing to set up a scene no different from France at his own home, surprising many audiences.
At the ag.e of 62, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh still regularly participates in major programs, pursues new milestones in art and does eco-tourism on an area of 20 hectares. In the past year, the thing that the male artist is most passionate about is building a theater. In particular, he is the one who designs his own projects because of his passion for architecture.
Cao Minh confided that he carried out this idea with the desire to bring people interesting experiences and enjoy real music.
With the newly built theater, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh plans to invite foreign experts and leading pianists to perform and evaluate the sound system to ensure quality. Here, the artists do not use electronic music. Notably, the theater does not sell tickets but allows audiences to enjoy music for free. Being able to create art and spread the influence of music to everyone is the endless passion of Meritorious Artist Cao Minh.
Recently, he attracted attention when participating in a movie project that premiered in early April to celebrate Vietnam's great day of April 30. Having the opportunity to interact with the media, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh had the opportunity to express his pride in this project.
As a Cu Chi resident who experienced that war, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh praised the film's cast. At the event, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh also took the spotlight with many humorous and interesting shares about his role.
He opened with his own story in a humorous way: "I am not a movie actor. I am a singer, the "king of red music". Because I often appear on TV, television, and the media on holidays, I often sing traditional songs and I keep competing, I keep being jealou.s of why young people don't listen to me sing more. I'm angry!
Then I was invited by director Bui Thac Chuyen to act in a movie. At first I didn't dare, I refused. Then I learned about the director, read the script and told myself, if you don't accept, you're stupid! So I accepted immediately and became close to the director."
When receiving laughter and support from the audience, singer Cao Minh continued: "I feel lucky to be able to participate in this film because I can see and imagine the story of the war against America. And most of the songs I sing are songs from the war against America and I can feel it, so it's difficult for me."
