Recently, Forbes Magazine (USA) has announced the list of world dollar billionaires in 2022. Accordingly, for the first time, Vietnam has 7 representatives in this list, the most ever. According to the announcement of Forbes, Vietnam's 7th USD billionaire is Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon, Chairman of Nova Group.
In his first appearance in the list of USD billionaires in the Forbes ranking, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon owns a fortune of $ 2.9 billion and ranks 1,053 in the world.
Vietnam has 7 billionaires for the first time on Forbes' list
Despite being added to Forbes' list of USD billionaires for the first time, billionaire Bui Thanh Nhon's assets are valued much higher than some previously recognized Vietnamese dollar billionaires.
Accordingly, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon is only behind billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, billionaire Tran Dinh Long and female billionaire Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao in the list of Vietnamese billionaires on Forbes' list.
Meanwhile, the Dong Thap businessman stood above Mr. Ho Hung Anh, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Mr. Tran Ba Duong and his family.
According to Forbes' ranking, Vietnam's 7 billionaires have assets worth $21.2 billion. In which, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong is still the owner of the largest fortune worth 6.2 billion USD.
Billionaire Bui Thanh Nhon was born in 1958 in Long Khanh A commune, Hong Ngu district, Dong Thap province, originally from a bachelor's degree in agriculture and graduated from Executive MBA, HSB - TUCK, Dartmouth University, USA.
According to the introduction of Forbes, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon is the Chairman of Nova Group (NovaGroup), whose head is the real estate company No Va Land Investment Group. In addition, the new Vietnamese billionaire also has interests in a group of businesses including consumer goods, entertainment, food and beverages.
Mr. Nhon worked in the public sector before starting his own business in 1992 by setting up a business selling animal feed and veterinary medicine. The Dong Thap businessman fell in love with the real estate industry in 2007 with an apartment project in Ho Chi Minh City.
