If you can act in a movie, you will be injured for 10 years and can't act in another movie. Making my first movie got into a big scandal. The above incidents caused Ba Cuong to be called the "unluckiest actor in Vietnam".
The arduous artistic journey
Ba Cuong was born and raised in Central Vietnam. He admits that he is not skillful in relationships, but he entered showbiz, an environment of complexity, glittering but also thorny. The writer asked him why he chose a career contrary to his personality, he laughed and said: "This profession chose me, the charm came early but it was also very silver".
The actor was born in 1983 since graduating from high school, he packed up and moved to Saigon with the desire to become an English teacher or a football coach. But both schools failed, at that time a friend invited him to take the exam to the University of Theater and Cinema. Ba Cuong also randomly took the exam, unexpectedly passed. Since then, he has been caught up in the profession.
When he was still a freshman, he was invited to play the role of Tay, a villain in the movie Land of Happiness. Ba Cuong said that perhaps thanks to his fierce and fierce appearance, the director found it suitable for the character. However, this opportunity almost fell into the hands of someone else if he did not take the initiative to take it back.
The film aired, wherever he went, the audience recognized him, but they hated this "evil" guy.
Ba Cuong was very happy, just received a compliment from the director, and viewers also acknowledged his acting ability. However, "short-term joy is not short-lived". While Luong The Thanh and the actors co-starred in the Land of Happiness, was popular, but Ba Cuong disappeared on the screen.
For 2 years in a row, he did not have a small role. The guy in the Central region at that time was still too surprised by the harsh reality, but because of his shy personality, Ba Cuong was also afraid to communicate, causing relationships to fall into a dead end.
Frustrated, he returned to the Idecaf theater, content with unnamed roles. Despite being facilitated by everyone, his radio was limited, so he once again accepted a humble position.
Ba Cuong must admit that Central people are inherently honest, not agile in work that requires flexibility, and lack ingenuity in communication, so opportunities in the profession are not many. In return, he possesses the inherent tenacity of the people of the sea, knows how to work hard and save each opportunity, so he gradually charted a new path.
The actor was not afraid to have to start a arduous journey, starting to quit his job in the theater to raise his ambition in movies.
He accepted to step on the bumpy road, applied for the film crew and helped behind the scenes.
The film crew was filming when the assistant director asked for leave, being industrious and hardworking, Ba Cuong was trusted by director Xuan Phuoc to act as an assistant. The actor continued his new role when working with Le Hoang in the movie Angels in White. When director Ngoc Chau made the film The Turn, Ba Cuong was made the deputy director.
After 7 years of being behind the camera, he did not hide his pride when even small achievements confirmed his efforts. He said that 7 years, the audience can forget an actor Ba Cuong, but he has never calmed down the nostalgia for the profession.
When he was about to study directing, he was invited by a colleague who was working as an assistant for the film The Sons of Saigon Rangers at that time to play the role of the public. Not minding, Ba Cuong nodded immediately. He went to the studio to discuss and prepare for the role, when the deputy director came out, saw Ba Cuong, who looked at him for a while and asked the actor to meet director Long Van.
After chatting for a while and leaving, the director called and told him to prepare for the male lead Dac Vi. The next day, he went to Vung Tau while the crew was filming and asked the director for 2 weeks to prepare. Ba Cuong said he needed a week of professional training when acting as a scout, a week to practice martial arts. "If the crew doesn't agree, I'm ready to quit because I can't act superficially," he added.
Long Van thought for a moment, asked the director to rearrange the male lead's filming schedule and told Ba Cuong to return to Saigon to prepare. After the film was broadcast, the director gave an interview that he initially gave the role of Dac Vi to Ba Cuong for safety. Because he found his angular appearance suitable for the character. But he did not expect because the actor created a lively Dac Vi like real life.
During the 7 years of working with the crew, the desire to act in a movie was always suppressed. So, when he played Sons of the Saigon Rangers, he said he was "very bloody". Even in the last scene, Ba Cuong was seriously injured.
As a result, the Quang Ngai native actor suffered a spinal injury, forcing him to take a 2-year break from filming to go to Singapore for treatment.
Later, he returned to act in the movie Silver Fate at the invitation of Hoai Linh. But again, the old trauma recurred when Ba Cuong performed the action scenes.
More than 20 years in the profession with a fortune of more than 15 films, both television and film. Of which, 6 years had to be treated for injuries and 7 years to stop acting. Ba Cuong said that number was too modest for an actor, but this process helped him discover himself.
In the end, he decided to take a turn and this time it was more difficult to choose the path of becoming a film producer. His first film was involved in a big scandal that caused money to flow into the sea. The incidents caused Ba Cuong to be called the "unluckiest actor in Vietnam".
Broken marriage
His angular appearance is associated with villainous roles, but in real life, he is a husband and father devoted to his family. Although he has been through two marriages, the way the actor takes care of his children and his relationship with his ex-wife always makes people praise.
Ba Cuong married his first wife, Hong Nhung, 10 years ago. At that time he was 28 years old, his wife was only 23 years old when he gave birth to his first child. Recalling the feeling of being informed of the good news of becoming a father for the first time, the actor honestly revealed his feeling unlike other fathers. He was not nervous or worried, instead he was indescribably happy.
His journey to become a baby daddy is equally meaningful. With his love for his wife and children, despite being fortunate to have his family by his side, Ba Cuong still spends 16 hours a day taking care of his mother and children, the remaining 8 hours he goes to work to take care of the family income.
How much love for a small family and plans for a son, but when little Ken was about 1 year old, Ba Cuong and his wife began to have many conflicts from family economic matters, changes in mind and spirit. The wife's postpartum physiology... The 1-year-old child both broke up but still tried to last until the baby was 2 years old, then they officially went their separate ways.
Now that they both have new families, the mother of Ba Cuong's son still cherishes their time together.
Ba Cuong emotionally confided: "I turn all the sadness of the past into the best memories to bring the relationship back to stability and for the best for my children". Especially when I heard my son say: "Now I have 2 fathers and 2 mothers", Ba Cuong is even happier because he understands for his parents.
