According to initial investigation results, on January 19, Trinh Xuan Chien attended a wedding at Mr. LDL's family (Thieu Trung commune, Thieu Hoa district). At about 7:30 p.m. the same day, Chien and a number of young men went to the stage area to sing and dance.

At this time, there were about 30 people on stage. While singing on stage, Chien took 4 firecrackers that Chien had previously made himself, made of 21-gauge plastic pipes, and burned them, causing many people at the wedding to run away in panic.

More dangerously, when Chien threw the fourth firecracker on the floor but it did not explode, Le Xuan Long picked up the firecracker, lit it and threw the firecracker into the crowd, causing the firecracker to explode, plastic pieces flying out, injuring 3 people. . In particular, Mr. NVS was standing in the yard, was injured by fireworks fragments flying into his eyes, and is currently being treated at the hospital.

The actions of Trinh Xuan Chien and Le Xuan Long caused chaos at weddings and crowded areas, causing confusion, fear, angering public opinion, injuring many people, and adversely affecting security and order. local order.

Currently, the case is being jointly investigated and clarified by Thieu Hoa District Police.

According to information from Thanh Nien, on January 26, information from Da Nang Hospital said that the hospital is receiving and treating many patients with serious injuries due to homemade fireworks.

Among them, on January 18, the hospital received patient NHK (16 years old, residing in Dien Ban town, Quang Nam) with difficulty breathing, complicated injuries to the head, face, neck, chest, Arms and eyes are not visible.

Through examination and tests, X-rays and CT scans showed that the patient had bilateral neck pneumothorax, upper mediastinal air hematoma, right lung lobe collapse, bone loss in both hands, left maxillary sinus fracture, right eyeball injury.

The patient was taken to the emergency operating room. Because foreign objects were in many locations and the patient had multiple serious injuries, many hospital specialties coordinated to handle the problem. Currently, the patient is still in a coma, on a ventilator, with a severe prognosis, and is being actively treated at the Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation.

Doctor-CK II Ngo Hanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Trauma Surgery at Da Nang Hospital, said that patients who explode from homemade firecrackers often suffer multi-organ damage; Hands are often crushed, chest injuries...

The pressure from homemade fireworks also causes damage to the lungs and abdomen, especially burns to the face and eyes, causing blindness. In addition, firecrackers also create toxic gases that cause pneumonia, burns of the trachea... The patient will be stunned due to very serious injury.

"During Tet, some young people are often curious and make their own firecrackers. We recommend that parents should pay attention to their children, and schools should organize talks to propagate to students not to arbitrarily making fireworks," said Dr. Hanh.

Dr. Hanh also recommended that most children, once they have made their own firecrackers, will continue to do so. Like a recently hospitalized case, last year this child made his own firecrackers and did so again this year. The same goes for previous hospitalizations, most of them made their own firecrackers 2 times or more.

"When the homemade firecracker incident happened, the injuries left to the children were huge. Their hands were definitely unable to hold a pen, and their eyes were blind, making them unable to continue studying," Dr. Hanh added. .
