The special mother-daughter relationship between Meritorious Artist Vu Linh and artist Hong Nga moved the audience. Over many years together on stage, they created touching and tearful roles.

In the Cai Luong village, Meritorious Artist Vu Linh and artist Hong Nga are a rare pair of artists who have a close bond, creating a mother-daughter relationship full of affection on stage. Both of them have shined together in many famous plays such as Ben do yeu thuong, Duyen kiep, Co Lanh cau Bong and especially Tinh ma tu. In this play, they fully expressed the sacred love between mother and daughter, bringing many emotional moments that made the audience unable to hold back their tears, becoming an unforgettable mark of the Vietnamese Cai Luong stage.

With her natural, inner-feeling acting, Hong Nga completely transformed into the image of a poor, hard-working mother who devoted herself to her children. Meanwhile, Vu Linh, with his delicate and emotional acting, completely portrayed the image of a filial son, with many worries but always looking towards his mother. She has taken on a variety of roles, from a hard-working, kind mother to a cruel, scheming villain. No matter what role she plays, she leaves a strong impression thanks to her deep ability to immerse herself in a role and her genuine acting. Her classic roles such as in Duyên ký sự, Tim lại yêu thương or Cô Lãnh cầu Bông have become indelible marks on the Southern reformed opera stage.

Meritorious Artist Vu Linh – known as the “king of Cantonese opera” – was once a symbol of a generation of talented artists. In any role, from a poor, love-sick man to a character with a strong personality, he fully expressed it with genuine emotion.
Not only is he a valuable colleague, to Hong Nga, Vu Linh is also a polite and affectionate son. She once shared: "Linh is very obedient, always calling me mom. Once after filming a crying scene, he hugged me and said 'I love you so much, mom'. I love him and consider him as my own son."

That affection does not only stop on stage but also spreads to real life. When Vu Linh fell ill and passed away in 2023, artist Hong Nga could not hide her emotions. She choked up and said: "The stage lost a filial son, emotional and talented. Linh is the pride of the cai luong artists."
