Duong Ai Vy and her "voice echoing in front of the mic": Phenomenon or stage effect?

Son Tung M-TP and Soobin did not say anything, but a poster was enough to make the fan community "furious". The war does not come from the artists, but from expectations, pride and hierarchical culture in showbiz.
The November 2 music event in Ho Chi Minh City brought together famous artists such as Son Tung M-TP, Soobin, Rhyder, Duong Domic, Phuong My Chi, Anh Tu, Vu Cat Tuong, Truc Nhan... But instead of eagerly waiting for the performance, the online community was caught up in an unnecessary controversy - it all started from a promotional poster. In the design, the images of Son Tung and Soobin were placed in the center , with Son Tung's size being slightly larger. What seemed normal sparked a wave of reactions between two large fandoms: Sky (Son Tung's fan) and Kingdom (Soobin's fan).
A part of Sky believes that Soobin should not be ranked on the same level as Son Tung - who has a superior position and achievements in Vpop . More than 8,000 "indignant" interactions under the poster post are proof of the tension.
Meanwhile, Kingdom chose to respond with action: calling for yellow lightsticks to be turned on during the show to affirm their presence. Meanwhile, Sky prepared to "cover" the event space with their fandom's signature color. The two sides constantly fought on Threads, TikTok, fanpages and groups, turning a music event into an underground battlefield of fandom pride.
It is worth mentioning that neither Son Tung M-TP nor Soobin have made any statements about the incident. They still maintain a professional attitude, focusing on the performance. But it is that silence that makes fans interpret and defend their idols in their own way â sometimes beyond the limit. Some Sky fanpages even accused the event organizers of being tactless when deleting comments instead of giving an explanation. Meanwhile, Kingdom believes that Soobin being placed in the center position is completely worthy of his current ability and coverage.
The debate over the position of artists on posters is not new. In Korea, "center" is a position of power in an idol group. In China, "C" is a symbol of class and influence. But in Vietnam, this concept has not been clearly defined â and that is what makes every image arrangement become a spark for conflict. In the Korean idol world, "center" is the person standing in the middle of the group, often taking on the most prominent part of the song or choreography. In China, the person standing in the center of a group photo or on the red carpet is often considered the person with the "highest class". Many stars even intentionally stand in the middle to attract attention. According to an unspoken convention in the industry, whoever occupies the center position on important occasions is often considered the main character.
From the group photo taken at the Vogue event on October 23, Chinese social media erupted in debate about the placement of the celebrities, especially the "Best Actress" who had won official film awards. Names like Zhou Dongyu, Ma Sichun, and Zhang Xiaofei were "pushed" to the edge of the photo, while Chung Chuxi - who had never won Best Actress at major awards - stood in the center. Some fans said that Chung Chuxi's "occupying" the center broke the original layout. Originally, with their status as big stars and brand influence, the audience thought that Liu Yifei or Yang Mi were the ones who deserved the center position.
Returning to the event in Ho Chi Minh City, it is clear that placing Son Tung and Soobin in the center position is a media choice. But when the performance industry develops strongly, the audience is not only interested in music or talent, but also in the position, reputation, and power of the idol. Behind it is not only the individual artist's pride, but also the expression of the race for fame and commercialization of image in the entertainment industry. In the event, each artist has their own role, the position on the poster is mostly decided by the design team, promotional negotiations and media strategy. Without restraint and mutual respect, these things can easily turn into fuel for unnecessary conflicts.
Ultimately, the most regrettable thing is when artists are dragged into wordless battles. Both Son Tung and Soobin are artists with their own personalities, their own qualities, and loyal fan bases. They do not need to fight for position to assert their value. And the audience, if they truly love their idols, should let them shine through music â not through image wars.
