On March 10, social media went viral with a video of a Vietnamese TikToker currently living in China, raising questions about the quality of instant noodles that appeared on the livestream of the Xiao Yang Zhenxuan brand.
The product is said to be affiliated with the controversial Chinese company Ba Con Cuu. In the video, this TikToker points out that the product prints the expiration date on the nylon wrapper outside the noodle box instead of printing it directly on the box like other noodle brands. She believes that with this method, when the product expires, the seller can replace it with another nylon wrapper, reprint the date, and sell it to consumers.
In addition, the noodle box does not have a sealed part, just open the lid to see the noodles inside. The nylon covering the noodle can also be easily replaced. In the comments section, many netizens "called out" Hang Du Muc, because at the end of 2024, Hang Du Muc introduced this instant noodle product on her livestream.
However, there has been no official information about the sale of Hang Du Muc noodles being "blocked". On the UMALL shopping app, this type of noodle is currently "sold out" and it is unclear when it will be available again. Basic information shows the origin of the Chinese brand XiaoYang ZhenXuan. Currently, there are still many Vietnamese e-commerce platforms selling this type of noodle.
Netizens also gave mixed opinions about the incident: "I saw this noodle sold in supermarkets, it's not banned"; "The brand owner was boycotted by Chinese people, they didn't want to buy the product, so Hang must have imported it at a cheap price and brought it back to Vietnam to sell for high profits"; "If you're going to be banned, then you should be banned properly, don't just follow suit and try to put people down. This noodle is still sold normally in China"; "Posting news without doing any thorough research. Taking advantage of other people's difficult situations, you decide to put them down completely";...
Previously, Hang Du Muc received heavy criticism when she was accuse.d of falsely advertising vegetable pills. The female TikToker also had sensitive images and clips from the past leaked, and her ex-husband spoke up to accus.e her of selling poor quality products. Amidst the continuous noise surrounding her, Hang Du Muc is still keeping silent, not giving any response. Her live sessions have also been postponed indefinitely, with no word on when they will return.
Recently, Hang Du Muc and Quang Linh Vlogs were also discovered to have livestreamed many times selling products of a company that is involved in many scandals in China, which also aroused curiosity. Specifically, many users discovered that Hang Du Muc had introduced products originating from China such as cosmetics and packaged instant noodles from the Three Sheep Group. It is worth mentioning that Three Sheep Group is a company that is involved in many scandals regarding violations in business and advertising activities.
Specifically, in September 2024, Three Sheep Group was fined 9.8 million USD (more than 242 billion VND) after the unit was accuse.d of falsely marketing mooncakes produced in mainland China as "from Hong Kong", according to SCMP.
In addition, the market regulator of Hefei (Anhui, China) also rejected the claim of Three Sheep Group celebrities that the beef they sold was raw meat, from cows fed with grain. In fact, this meat product was marinated with spices. Along with that, the children's shoes of this brand were also said to contain toxic substances.
It is known that in addition to being fined, according to the provisions of the Law on Administrative Penalties and the Law on Anti-Unfair Competition, the authorities also decided to: Confiscate all illegal profits; Request to suspend business and implement reforms within the prescribed period; Take legal responsibility for Three Sheep Group.
Following the uproar, the Three Sheep Groupâs official accounts were all suspended online. SCMP further explained that the Three Sheep Group had suspended its online commercial activities, which involved selling the products via livestream.
