VTV suddenly let "Unknown" air, exposing the trick of "leading" public opinion

"Unknown" is a TikTok channel specializing in prying into the private lives of Vietnamese artists who are active on social networks. The information released by this channel is unverified and has affected the careers of many famous people.

The problem is that many Tik Tok and Facebook accounts today take advantage of freedom of speech to post unverified information to offend the honor and dignity of individuals, especially artists - people with influence on the public is causing pain.

In a recent report, VTV mentioned this channel when talking about the issue of spreading false and true information on social networks. Specifically, "Unknown" was called out by the station when posting information with bad, negative intentions or harming others but received high interactions, making it difficult for viewers to distinguish between truth and falsehood.

The TikTok channel has for some time become a controversial topic because its content often focuses on criticizing individuals in the entertainment industry, by revealing unverified information or negative comments.

The incident raises concerns about the privacy of celebrities, as well as the accuracy and responsibility of information spread on social networks. However, this account is still almost arrogant in the face of the helplessness of those involved.

Notably, the owner of this TikTok channel also immediately updated developments after the report aired. This channel does not express the attitude or reaction too clearly, but only mentions the station calling the name. Besides, the channel still posts other "scandalous" videos as usual.

According to research, "Unknown" or "This is Mask" are in charge. Behind the channel, this fanpage is said to be a company in Phu Nhuan district, Ho Chi Minh City. "Unknown" was created in March 2023, with the initial clips being just simple compilations and collages, retrieving old information. Only later did the owner of this channel begin to dig into the artist's private life. In just over a year, this channel released hundreds of clips, attracting a large number of followers and a huge level of interaction.

In Vietnamese showbiz, a series of Vietnamese artists are "victims" of "Unknown". From stars like Truong Giang, Tran Thanh, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, Midu to famous people working in many current artistic fields, all are attacked by this channel. Even many Hot TikTokers such as: Ciin, Xuan Ca, Hoang Lan Anh, Quynh Ailee... also suffered when being "called out" by this channel.

Worth mentioning, in the entire "scandal" clip, the channel owner posted images and called the artist by name, no longer anonymous, abbreviating the character's name (to avoid risks) like previous anti-fanpages and groups. . Clips with quite sensational titles like "The hidden corner of..."; "The truth about..."; "The person behind..."...

For acts of providing fake information, false information, distortion, slander, and insulting an individual's reputation but not to the extent of being prosecuted for criminal liability, according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 4 Decree 15/2020/ND-CP and Clause 1, Clause 3 Article 101 Decree 15/2020/ND-CP (amended by Decree 14/2022/ND-CP dated January 27, 2022), fine up to 20 million VND, and the violator will be forced to remove false or misleading information or information that violates the law.

In addition, violating accounts can also be prevented from operating according to Article 5 of Circular No. 38/2016/TT-BTTTT dated December 26, 2016 of the Ministry of Information and Communications detailing the provision of providing public information across borders.

If the shared information is determined by the authorities to seriously offend an individual's dignity and honor, the offender may be criminally prosecuted for the "Crime of humiliating others" in Article 155 of the 2015 Penal Code (amended by the 2017 Penal Code) or "Slander" in Article 156 of the 2015 Penal Code (amended by the 2017 Penal Code).

Accordingly, offenders can be sentenced to up to 7 years in prison. In addition, offenders may also be banned from holding positions, practicing certain professions or doing certain jobs for 1 to 5 years, and be fined from 10 million VND to 50 million VND.
