Vo Ha Linh and Cong Ken – two famous TikTokers – are involved in a controversy surrounding an eyelash care product. Cong Ken’s statement “taught by his parents” caused a stir on social media, with netizens arguing fiercely.

Vo Ha Linh (born in 1992) and Cong Ken (real name Nguyen Trong Cong, born in 2002) are two familiar faces on Vietnamese TikTok. While "review warrior" Vo Ha Linh has more than 5.7 million followers thanks to her straightforward and professional review style, Cong Ken attracts attention with his cheerful and friendly image and has 2.8 million fans. Therefore, when the two were suddenly caught up in a scandal related to an eyelash care product, the online community immediately stirred up discussion.

The incident began at the end of June 2025, when Vo Ha Linh posted a clip saying that she was testing an eyelash care product because her followers asked about it a lot. She affirmed that she would give an objective review after a period of experience. Coincidentally, this is the product that Cong Ken is the image representative for and he introduced as his "brainchild".

After three months of use, on October 18, Vo Ha Linh posted a video and photos giving feedback on the product's effectiveness. Although she did not intend to attack anyone, Ha Linh's review clip quickly attracted attention because the product was directly related to Cong Ken. The story, which was supposed to stop at sharing personal experiences, suddenly took a turn when Cong Ken reacted strongly on social media.

On the evening of October 19, the male TikToker posted a clip about the incident, without naming anyone but repeatedly mentioning "them". He said that "they" had mentioned him before but chose to remain silent, but this time "they could not ignore it". In the video, Cong Ken expressed doubts about the feedback image posted by the other party, saying that there were "many unreasonable points".

Notably, he also shared the life philosophy taught by his parents: "When doing anything, rely on your own intelligence and talent, absolutely do not cling to or mention other people's names to become famous." Then, Cong Ken added: "But it seems they don't play that way, and I don't do like them."

This statement immediately caused a heated debate. Many netizens believed that the matter revolved around product quality, and had nothing to do with "being taught by parents". Some also thought that Cong Ken's words could easily lead listeners to misunderstand that he was "lecturing" and implying that others were uneducated.

In the face of the wave of condemnation, that same evening, Cong Ken livestreamed to clarify his views and directly mentioned Vo Ha Linh's name. When an audience member commented, "Are you talking about Ha Linh when you have parents?", he immediately explained: "No, I'm not talking about Ha Linh. I mean that some of her fans have been talking about me with harsh words after she posted the clip. I'm only talking about that action, not about Ha Linh personally."

Despite his explanation, Cong Ken's explanation was still not convincing enough for the majority. Most people thought that because the first person to mention his name was Vo Ha Linh, Cong Ken's saying "they" and then mentioning his parents' teachings made it easy for the audience to misunderstand that he was referring to the female TikToker.

As for Vo Ha Linh, she kept silent and did not directly respond to Cong Ken. On her personal page, the female TikToker only updated articles about eyelash care products and shared a meaningful status: "Change the way you review, speak gently, be more selective... but maybe it's still not enough. Maybe you have to praise to avoid drama!".

This statement made netizens guess that she was implicitly referring to the recent scandal. Up to now, Vo Ha Linh has not made any official statement about being the reason that made Cong Ken upset.
