Miss Binh Phuong said that she had submitted an application to the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City, requesting the right to inherit the property left by her husband. In the lawsuit, Binh Phuong requested to receive back the assets left by her husband before his death, including a house and land in Quarter 7, Linh Dong Ward, Thu Duc City, and land plot No. 1841 in Duc Lap Thuong Commune, Duc Hoa District, Long An Province. Ms. Ngoc Anh (Duc Tien's mother) and the actor's daughter, each person is entitled to a part of the inheritance.

After receiving a notice from the court, Duc Tien's mother filed a counterclaim, requesting to enjoy 50% of the above property. According to Ms. Ngoc Anh, the house in Thu Duc City was bought by her and her son in 2009. At that time, she let Duc Tien take her name due to poor health and lack of knowledge of the law.

In 2011, Duc Tien and Binh Phuong went to the US. This house is used by her and Duc Tien's sister, paying taxes and fees since then. With the will made on August 9, 2023 of the late actor Duc Tien, Ms. Anh said that it was "not in accordance with Vietnamese law".

Duc Tien's mother asked the court not to recognize the legal validity of this will. At the same time, she asked the court to confirm that the real estate in Linh Dong Ward, Thu Duc City belonged to her and her son. Ms. Anh received 50% of the value of the property. With the land plot in Long An, Ms. Anh proposed to enjoy 50% of the value. In May 2024, Duc Tien suddenly passed away at the age of 44. Soon after the actor's death, the relationship between his biological mother and his wife fell into strain. She expressed her frustration, "accusing" her daughter-in-law of refusing to sign the bail letter.
