Miss Binh Phuong said that she had submitted an application to the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City, requesting the right to inherit the property left by her husband. Duc Tien's wif.e is living with her daughter in the US. She authorized her legal representative in Vietnam to file a lawsuit petition with relevant evidence.

In the lawsuit, Binh Phuong requested to receive back the assets left by her husband before his deat.h, including a house and land in Quarter 7, Linh Dong Ward, Thu Duc City, and land plot No. 1841 in Duc Lap Thuong Commune, Duc Hoa District, Long An Province. Ms. Ngoc Anh (Duc Tien's mothe.r) and the actor's daughter, each person is entitled to a part of the inheritance.

After receiving a notice from the court, Duc Tien's mothe.r filed a counterclaim, requesting to enjoy 50% of the above property. According to Ms. Ngoc Anh, the house in Thu Duc City was bought by her and her son in 2009. At that time, she let Duc Tien take her name due to poor health and lack of knowledge of the law.

In 2011, Duc Tien and Binh Phuong went to the US. This house is used by her and Duc Tien's sister, paying taxes and fees since then. With the will made on August 9, 2023 of the late actor Duc Tien, Ms. Anh said that it was "not in accordance with Vietnamese law".

Duc Tien's mothe.r asked the court not to recognize the legal validity of this will. At the same time, she asked the court to confirm that the real estate in Linh Dong Ward, Thu Duc City belonged to her and her son. Ms. Anh received 50% of the value of the property. With the land plot in Long An, Ms. Anh proposed to enjoy 50% of the value. In addition, Ms. Anh asked to receive the above house in kind and pay Binh Phuong and her granddaughter, 720 million VND each.

In May 2024, Duc Tien suddenly passed away at the ag.e of 44. Soon after the actor's deat.h, the relationship between his biological mothe.r and his wif.e fell into strain. When she heard the news of her son's deat.h, Ms. Ngoc Anh - Duc Tien's mothe.r wanted to go to the US to see her chil.d for the last time but could not due to lack of paperwork. She expressed her frustration, "accusing" her daughter-in-law of refusing to sign the bail letter.

The actor's mothe.r said: "I want to go to the US to see my son, Duc Tien, one last time. But Binh Phuong did not sign the paper. For the past few days, I have not answered the phone, texted without answering. I'm very frustrated."

Immediately afterwards, Duc Tien's wif.e clearly explained the reason why she could not bring her mother-in-law to the US because she did not have a deat.h certificate. Binh Phuong said that when her husband died, she called her family in Vietnam to report the news. Besides, she also shared the reason for not bringing Duc Tien's mothe.r to the US to live together. In September 2024, after 4 months since her husband's deat.h, Duc Tien's wif.e brought her daughter from the US to Vietnam for the first time to visit her paternal family. However, when she arrived at her mother-in-law's house, the door was locked tightly, Binh Phuong called to contact her, but no one answered the phone.
