Thu Trang Company is headed by Ms. Tran Ngoc Thu Trang (comedian Thu Trang) and another person as legal representatives.

The plaintiff requested the court to resolve the following issues: Force Thu Trang Company to pay the entire remaining capital contribution to Bao Trinh Company of VND 1.15 billion; forcing Thu Trang Company to pay a profit distribution amount of 2.498 billion VND to Bao Trinh Company.

According to the lawsuit, on November 16, 2020, Bao Trinh Company signed a film production and business cooperation contract with Thu Trang General Entertainment Company Limited (Thu Trang Company) to contribute capital to invest in the film. According to the contract content, the film production budget is 23 billion VND, Bao Trinh Company contributes capital of 2.3 billion VND, equivalent to 10% of the film production budget, this ratio will not change regardless of the total budget. of a film that is smaller or larger than the expected budget.

With this capital contribution, Bao Trinh Company will receive a profit calculated by the issuance profit multiplied by 10%.

The contract stipulates that in case the revenue from film exploitation is lower than the total investment capital of the project, the profit sharing for Party B (Bao Trinh Company) is 10% of revenue.

After the contract was signed, Bao Trinh Company transferred the full capital contribution amount to Thu Trang Company.

However, after the movie wrapped, released and finished showing in theaters, Thu Trang Company delayed returning the capital contribution and distributing the film's profits to Bao Trinh Company.

In addition, during the production and distribution of the film, Thu Trang Company did not notify Bao Trinh Company of the revenue according to the schedule as per the contract; not proactively announcing financial results; Do not provide documents proving filmmaking costs, distribution costs, percentage sharing with theaters...

After sending many notices requesting the return of contributed capital and profit distribution according to the contract, on November 17, 2022, Thu Trang Company sent a notice showing the project's net revenue of more than 24 billion 980 VND. million VND, while the film's cost was 27 billion 266 million VND, so the film's profit was negative 2 billion 286 million VND.

After that, Thu Trang Company paid Bao Trinh Company an amount of 1 billion 150 million VND in advance.

However, after the movie finished showing in theaters, Thu Trang Company still delayed the return of capital contributions as well as profit distribution, leading to disputes between the two parties.

Responding to VTC News reporter, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Trieu Dang - CEO of Thu Trang company said that the company has a business cooperation contract with Bao Trinh Company. However, during the implementation process, there were disagreements but no common ground could be found.

"We respect the partner's decision. When we cannot find common ground, we need to take the case to court to resolve it. The Court is currently accepting the lawsuit, so the case is left to the court to resolve," actress Thu Trang shared.
