Xavier Alexander Musk just turned 18 years old in California. She asked the court to change her gender from male to female and register a new name, according to court documents on PlainSite.
As the richest person in the world, Elon Musk often appears in newspapers. However, the articles often involve Twitter, Tesla, SpaceX or Neuralink, all of which add to his multibillion-dollar empire.
However, his private life, which is famously private, has recently been in the news a lot with details about his past romantic relationships, so that the name Elon Musk became the focus of attention.
Recently, the famous billionaire's family affairs once again caused a stir online when his daughter filed a request to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson, according to her new gender.
This is a shock as not much is known about Vivian Jenna Wilson (new name) until now. And here's what we've gathered about Musk's 18-year-old daughter so far...
Her new name is said to be Vivian Jenna Wilson
Xavier Alexander Musk filed for a legal change when she turned 18 - the age of consent in California. Her name has been changed back in online court documents with her new name being Vivian Jenna Wilson. Besides changing her name, she also dropped her father's last name to adopt her mother's maiden name Justine.
She applied to change her name and gender in April, according to Entertainment Tonight, and her trial is scheduled to take place this week.
She doesn't want to be related to her biological father
In the petition, she said that she wanted to drop her famous father's last name because she wanted nothing to do with him. "I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form," she wrote.
This is in stark contrast to Musk's recent Father's Day tweet, where he wrote: " I love all my children so much."
After the news broke, many people expressed their confusion on Twitter. One user wrote: "People need to pay attention to this. The fact that this person doesn't want a relationship with their billionaire father should tell his fans all they need to know about Elon. Musk."
At the time of writing, the eccentric billionaire has yet to make any official comments (or tweets) on the matter.
Her mother is an author who divorced Elon Musk in 2008
Musk married Canadian author Justine in 2000. But in 2008 the two officially "go their separate ways". Unfortunately, they lost their first son, Nevada Alexander Musk, as an infant. In 2004, the couple welcomed twins: Vivian and brother Griffin Musk, born with the help of in vitro fertilization (IVF).
In 2006, the couple gave birth to triplets named Damian, Saxon and Kai. A few years later, Musk divorced Justine and became engaged to British actress Talulah Riley.
Justine wrote an article: "I am a starter wife" for Marie Claire in 2010, explaining how she thought their marriage was unhealthy and saying that Musk mocked her and called himself is "alpha in this relationship". In the article, Justine also mentioned their first child, Nevada - a son who died in 2002.
Recently, Justine wrote an indirect but heartfelt tweet mentioning her daughter's name change and denial of her relationship with the billionaire father: "I said (to Vivian): "Mom is so proud of her. child. I'm proud of myself!"
Her appearance opposes her father's views on LGBTQ politics and their pronouns
Vivian's request to legally change her name and become transgender also directly opposes her father's views on the LGBTQ community and pronouns.
In 2020, Musk responded to a user's tweet and stated that he was "totally supportive of LGBTQ", but that "all of these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare".
Fast-forwarding to this year, Musk randomly tweeted to tell fans that Tesla "scored 100/100 for the 7th year in a row on LGBTQ equality."
However, last May, Musk announced his support for Republican-elected delegate Ron DeSantis, who is known for his conservative views: he signed a bill banning discussion of gender identity and inclinations sex in schools, while supporting new legislation restricting transgender rights across the United States.
Musk's elusive and shrewd political views have led many to question his true beliefs and where he stands today, as his own transgender daughter could now be affected by harmful laws.
She attended Musk's Astra Nova private school
In Latin, Astra Nova translates to "new stars"... and that's also the name of the private school funded by Musk. This is also the same school that Vivian, her twin brother Griffin and their other siblings attended.
Built on the campus of SpaceX, the Astra Nova School (formerly known as Ad Astra) opened in 2014 shortly after Musk took his five sons out of the Mirman School in Los Angeles, a K-school 8 is for "gifted" kids, according to Quartz.
The private school only enrolls the children of Musk and his SpaceX employees (by invitation only). Here, the curriculum of the students is quite heavy and specializes in science, math, engineering, robotics and artificial intelligence and there is no grading system.
The school's website shared some interesting insights into its secret: "The school is exclusive because it's small. It's secret because it's not zoned properly. There are some smart kids at Ad Astra , but kindness and curiosity (and parents who worked at SpaceX) were the only criteria for admission."
In 2014 and 2015, it was revealed that Musk was giving the school $475,000 per year and it was run by Joshua Dahn, one of Mirman's teachers.
