Regarding Venom's voice, Tom wanted to have a strange, energetic, seductive, yet still scary and dangerous voice. The voices of Redman, Busta Rhymes, and James Brown were the reference materials that helped Tom Hardy create Venom's unique voice.

After the first film achieved huge revenue, the actor became the storyteller and producer for the following two parts. Looking back on his journey to become Venom for more than half a decade, Tom Hardy expressed: "I really loved playing Eddie and Venom. This is one of the best things I've ever done in my life.
