To become a famous star, Jang Wooyoung has gone through many arduous and difficult challenges when his family forbade him to be an idol and was rejected by JYP in the audition round.
With a resilient and persistent will, the young man has successfully made a name for himself with JYP's second-generation leading boy band. Besides, Wooyoung is also known for his versatility, expressed in many different fields in the art world.
Wooyoung is a member of the "beast" group 2PM, under JYP Entertainment Company. From the day he entered the art world, he quickly made a mark when pursuing a personality image, different from idols active at the same time. Jang Wooyoung was born in 1989 in the port city of Busan, South Korea. He grew up in a family of four with his parents and an older sister. When he entered middle school, the young man began to rekindle his passion for becoming an idol.
However, the father did not accept this dream and vehemently objected to Wooyoung following the idol profession. Even because of this, the relationship between family members is prone to conflicts. The young man had to hide his whole family when he went to dance school in the evening, and at the same time worked hard to absorb knowledge in class. To realize his dream, Wooyoung began looking for opportunities and signed up for auditions at entertainment businesses.
"Even before I was selected, I put my faith in JYP Entertainment. I know that the path to pursue my dream of becoming an idol is very expensive, so I need to choose the right career development berth so as not to make myself a burden to my parents," Wooyoung shared on the program Knowing Bros.
