Most recently, when accepting the invitation to participate in Sticky Rice Part 2, Thuy Trang also discussed carefully with the crew about her character. Before that, her role in part 1 was a doctor Phuc resigned to falling in love with Kiet (played by Trung Dung). By season 2, this character becomes scheming and calculating. The audience also called her with the nickname "Phuc Thao Mai".
The actress shared, "When talking to director Hoang Anh, I also expressed my dissatisfaction with the role. I told her if the role was just this, she should invite someone else. "If they needed loud actors, the scandal wouldn't be me," she stressed.
Despite being considered quite pale in Vietnamese showbiz, Thuy Trang frankly said: "I know it is my shortcoming, but I have not changed it. Maybe it's because I'm influenced by my family's traditions. Parents work in the military, so everything must be organized and orderly. Since entering the profession, I have always reminded myself to keep the image. Every time I read about a scandal, my parents would call to remind me, "You have to avoid it, don't be like this."
She even describes herself as "conservative" and "extreme" but still maintains her opinion and considers it her life motto. Thuy Trang admits that she is a simple person who should be afraid to interact or have a relationship with a man who has broken down her marriage : "Many people say it's okay but it's my life motto. Maybe I'm too conservative, too extreme, but that's my outlook on life that can't be changed. It's not that I'm too picky, it's just that I'm going to choose someone like my situation."
