Not only Vietnamese but also Westerners are quite interested in things that can bring luck. The phrase "touch wood" or "knock on wood" is living proof of that, these phrases imply that touching wood will bring luck, this culture has existed for centuries in the West. The belief that hitting, knocking or touching a piece of wood will bring luck to the person doing it is still a controversial topic when the origin of the phrases has many different versions.

The origin of the phrase "touch wood" or "knock on wood" comes from European religious traditions.
