In the list published by Spotify, Taylor Swift is the most streamed artist globally in 2024 on Spotify. With this result, Taylor won the crown for the second year in a row.
According to the assessment, this result is largely thanks to the strength of Taylor's latest album - "The Tortured Poets Department". It is also the most streamed album of 2024 on Spotify. In total, Taylor Swift's music has generated more than 26.6 billion streams on the platform this year.
After Swift, Spotify's most streamed artists of the year worldwide are the Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake, and Billie Eilish.
Swift's "Tortured Poets" broke several Spotify records, including: the first album to reach 300 million streams in a single day and more than 1 billion in its first week of release. The album's wide popularity led to a year of great success for female artists.
Those who made it into the top eight of the 10 most streamed albums worldwide on Spotify include: Billie Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft" (No. 2), Sabrina Carpenter's "Short n' Sweet" (No. 3), Karol G's "Mañana Será Bonito" (No. 4), Ariana Grande's "Eternal Sunshine" (No. 5), Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)" (No. 6), SZA's "SOS" (No. 7) and Swift's "Lover" (No. 8).
To celebrate Taylor Swift's return as the most streamed artist, Spotify is adding a perk to her fans. For the first time, Spotify added the Wrapped badge to Taylor Swift's Spotify profile, marking the first year of the event that the company said would be an annual difference.
In partnership with Snapchat, Swift fans around the world will find special 2024 Wrapped bracelets featuring the Global Top Artist Badge pendant through the AR lens in the Snapchat app. In addition, Spotify will launch outdoor installations featuring Swift in cities including New York, Toronto, Jakarta, São Paolo, Manila, Mexico City, London, Berlin, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Miami.
The most streamed songs on Spotify worldwide in 2024 are: Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso," with over 1.6 billion streams globally, followed by Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things," "Birds of a Feather," FloyyMenor and Cris MJ's "Gata Only," and Teddy Swims' "Lose Control."
In terms of personal life, Taylor Swift is ready to take a break after finishing her nearly 2-year Eras Tour. With more than 150 performances, the singer has done her best for her fans and everything will end on December 8. "Taylor was exhausted. She is looking forward to relaxing and resting," the source shared.
According to the same source, the Fortnight singer is reportedly planning to spend most of her vacation time in Kansas with her boyfriend Travis Kelce - whom she started dating last summer.
"Taylor plans to take a break and rest with Travis for a while," the source continued, "They want to do normal things as a couple. The two want to spend quality time together because that's when their personalities and habits are revealed. They will know a lot more about each other."
Despite taking a break for a while, the pop star has also come up with ideas for the next album as well as a new tour. The important thing is that things can still change, depending on how the love affair with the rugby star plays out in the coming year.
The source added that the couple wanted to get engaged to each other but was in no hurry for this. "Taylor feels Travis is the other half but rushing into a relationship is not her style. Marriage is a big issue and she wants it to go well," the source added.
