Son Tuyen is a stage name, in My family used to call her Tam because I was born in the 8th. The stage name Son Tuyen was given by me.

I was born and raised in Da Lat but originally in Quang Ngai. My father is from Quang Ngai, later moved to the South and gave birth to me in Da Lat.

When I was young, Ms. Thanh Tuyen was famous. I saw her singing, so I often asked to come along. Standing in the wings, I witnessed every time the second sister raised her voice, the audience applauded.

At that time, I just wished I could be like my sister. But I just wish that, but I don't think it will be like today. I just told my second sister that she also likes to sing.

The female singer revealed, "When I was young, I was sent to dance lessons by my parents, but when I started the basic class, I realized that I had no talent. That's why I asked my second sister to let me take singing lessons. But At first, my second sister didn't think I could follow the job because I was small and not beautiful, while the singer needed looks.

When I first went to a foreign country, I did not sing country music, but preferred to sing foreign music, especially jerky music. I really admire Miss Tina Turner, so when I first started singing, I wore a shaggy mane like her, and then dressed in a modern and aggressive manner.

People sing Vietnamese music, they often wear ao dai, and I wear a vest, a shirt, a little tomboyish. Therefore, every time we meet, second sister Thanh Tuyen is very uncomfortable with my hair. She said she didn't like it, but I gave up because I liked it.

But then there were a lot of people who liked me, especially in Australia. At that time, I went to Australia with Ms. Giao Linh, Ngoc Lan, Tuan Vu..., there were many spectators with the same hair as me and then came out to pick me up. That's what I remember to this day.

But saying that, there are many people who don't like my style. Everyone says it's bad, but I personally think it's beautiful. Maybe it's because I love Tina Turner that I want to be like her. However, when I sing Vietnamese music, I still have to wear a dignified and modest Ao Dai. Later, I also gradually changed the style to be more gentle and suitable."

Paid 50 dollars for a weekday singing session, 70 dollars on weekends, 7 days non-stop singing

Talking about the days of running the show in the US, the female singer revealed: "Up to now, I am very grateful to the Vocational Group for making my career associated with singing. Although I did not release many MVs, I have many blessings. I don't do much on screen, recording programs, just quietly go to shows.

The audience who admired me in the past is now the same age as me, having children. They let their children listen to my tapes again, so young children today still love to hear me sing.

To get where I am today is something I never expected. When I first came to America, I went to sing at a coffee shop with my friends. A club owner heard me sing and then invited me to collaborate. Carol Kim used to sing there before me, she had just moved to another state when I was substituted. That's my luck.

Said to be a collaborator, but I was almost the main vocalist for that club, singing continuously 7 days a week, without a break. At that time, I was just in Vietnam, my English was not good, I still had to go to school during the day, but I was paid 50 dollars for a weekday singing session, 70 dollars on weekends. That was quite a lot of money at the time.

But I was not confident and my singing ability, so I just listened to Michael Jackson to follow. The audience at that club was mostly foreigners, so I had to sing foreign music. I sang there continuously for 4 years straight, made money and made a living from singing. After that, I went to an outside show and got paid $300 a show."

Son Tuyen said, she got the success she is today largely thanks to the help and encouragement of her friends. She recalls, it was Khanh Ly who encouraged her to come to California (USA) to develop her career. And it was also thanks to her grace that she was noticed by record companies, supported in product release and then became famous.

"During a singing show outside, I accidentally listened to Khanh Ly sitting below. Khanh Ly heard me sing and liked it so much that she complimented me and invited me to California to sing (at that time, Son Tuyen was in Houston). But it took some time. I will return to California next year because I don't know anyone here.

After going to Cali, I applied for a job to sing, no one knew that I was Thanh Tuyen's brother. I also do not say that I am Thanh Tuyen's sister because I am very confident.

I remember, there was a famous tea room in Cali back then. I asked to sing, they did not accept. I begged them to let me sing for a night. Then they liked it so much that they invited me to collaborate," the female singer shared.

Being pampered by her husband even though she has no children

Son Tuyen and her husband met by chance at a birthday party decades ago. They like each other but only occasionally call to check in. Later, when they settled in the US, they had the opportunity to help each other more. The feelings of two people just came naturally, no one told anyone about their feelings for the other. Just like that, they moved in to live in the same house.

Son Tuyen thinks that she and he are "indebted" to each other from their previous lives, so this love is so strange. They didn't confess, didn't propose, and didn't have a wedding. The voice of Midnight Rain said that just looking into each other's eyes is enough to see trust, no need for politeness.
