" Normally, jicama takes about 6 months to harvest, but here we harvest gradually and sell gradually. This batch of jicama has been planted for 3 months, the tubers have grown big.

Now that it is the rainy season in Angola, I let my brothers dig 7 beds to sell at the Chinese agricultural store first. In 2-3 months is the dry season, when supply is scarce, we will harvest heavily and sell for a good price ," Quang Linh said.

Quang Linh added that the team's sales strategy is to offer products at the beginning of the season and introduce them to purchasing contacts. Then it will be sold according to orders, when other farms have finished harvesting. Planting on the farm also depends on the season and determines the sowing date.

Thanks to good soil preparation, the jicama tubers at Quang Linh farm have a relatively large size, about 200 - 300 grams/tubule, with thin skin. In Angola, jicama is mainly sold to the Chinese, and indigenous people are not familiar with this dish. Farm workers thought the jicama was a potato.

Chairman Quang Linh did not miss the opportunity to promote Vietnamese agricultural products, so he peeled some jicama and invited the farm brothers to try it. The guy seems quite proud of the farm's finished products.

In addition to jicama, the Quang Linh team also brought along white radish and sweet corn in the sales trip earlier this year. The guy said that in Luanda, there are many stores and supermarkets selling Chinese agricultural products that are willing to buy these 3 items, if the quality is guaranteed.

Sweet corn and white radish at Quang Linh farm are also ready for harvest. While Chinese people "crave" these types of agricultural products, in the village and in the district market where Quang Linh lives, people are not familiar with them and have poor purchasing power.

It took them half a day to travel to the capital Luanda, and they also had to choose the biggest, most delicious and beautiful agricultural products to take away, and the ugly ones to feed their family members, or as animal feed for the farm. In return, the price of agricultural products sold in Luanda is quite high, and traders charge by weight rather than buying in baskets like traders at the district market.

The young owner of Quang Linh farm calculated that the first shipment of the new year shipped out more than 600kg of agricultural products of all kinds, promising a bumper year. He hopes that the planting - harvesting - selling strategy will be effective, bringing economic stability to the farm and workers in the future.
