The documentary concert Rain of Fire was produced by the production team after the end of the program Anh Trai Vuon Ngan Chong Gai, to record the emotional journey and little-known efforts of the 33 participating artists.
At a press conference on the afternoon of May 16 in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Van Hanh - CEO of Yeah1 - said that the film was initially planned to be released early but was delayed due to additional concerts. After four concert nights, each night with improved quality, the crew decided to record the entire journey as a documentary to preserve the artists' experiences.
One of the situations included in the film is the conflict between singer Tuan Hung and (S) TRONG Trong Hieu. Initially, the crew was worried that the two would have difficulty standing on the same stage, but they still agreed to work together and became close after their performance at the concert.
According to director Dinh Ha Uyen Thu, producer of SlimV, this situation not only reflects the psychological depth of the people involved but also affirms that all conflicts and difficulties can be resolved peacefully.
Regarding revenue expectations, Ms. Van Hanh has absolute confidence in Gai con (name of Anh Tai's fandom - PV): "They have created miracles that we could not have imagined. I believe that the top 1 revenue will not exceed what the crew dreamed of."
At the press conference, a journalist stood up to confirm that he had asked Ms. Van Hanh a critical question before, but denied saying that the artists were "out of date". According to this journalist, the initial question was to compare the difference in ag.e and audience segment between the two programs Anh Trai Vuot Ngan Chong Gai and Anh Trai Say Hi, and at the same time wanted to clarify how the crew created effects for the program.
,
Responding to the details that the journalist wanted the crew to clarify, Ms. Van Hanh said that the film used many titles and opinions from the public who were skeptical of the program. Some articles used the phrase "out of date" to talk about the artists. The passages included in the film were all verbatim quotes, not staged or attributed.
She also added that at the show's press conference, she received a question that the artists had no fandom and lacked appeal compared to other shows. "I don't remember who asked at the press conference, but they asked me that these guys had no fandom, while the other guys had a lot of fans, were handsome, danced, rapped well..., what did you have to believe that the journey was successful? That is the evidence of my answer and it is completely true. We do not remake or close," said Ms. Van Hanh.
Director Dinh Ha Uyen Thu affirmed that the "out of date" plot is not aimed at any individual, but is a synthesis of press sources and public comments, aiming to clarify the context that the artists have overcome.
However, a journalist named GB expressed his indignation on his personal page. This person believes that Ms. Van Hanh needs a more satisfactory explanation.
This person wrote: "MS VAN HANH SHOULD HAVE A MORE SATISFACTORY EXPLANATION TO THE PRESS."
This afternoon the movie "Rain of Fire" premiered, overall very good, as expected of director Dinh Ha Uyen Thu's ability.
However, I am most stuck on one detail related to the press.
Specifically, in a behind-the-scenes interview scene, Ms. Van Hanh said: "During the ATVNCG press conference, a reporter asked a question and said that the talented men were past their prime..." (recorded by journalist ML). In the following scene, Ms. Hanh was probably shocked and worried that the talented men would be hurt, opening up a segment about how the men overcame prejudice.
Because Ms. Hanh's statement in the movie clearly identified the time, place and situation, I checked and found out that the person asking the question was a journalist, Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City People's Radio Station.
In the livestream video of the press conference on June 27, 2024, Ms. KT said: "Among the 33 talents here, there are some who are quite old, without FC or teenage audiences ready to fight and combat on social media...".
So, the journalist who asked the question did not say that the talents were out of date.
This afternoon, Ms. KT herself asked a question, and Ms. Van Hanh answered: "The titles of the articles that Thu cited said that the brothers are out of date. My answer at the press conference was a document and did not link to the journalist saying that the brothers are out of date...".
In my opinion, Ms. Hanh's explanation is not satisfactory because it contradicts her own statement from the behind-the-scenes interview scene in the movie.
I think Ms. Hanh should have a more satisfactory explanation. Since ATVNCG took place until now, the press has written many articles about the program, contributing to the spread of the program.
When making a film, if Yeah1 doesn't acknowledge that, it's okay, because after all, we're doing our job.
But fabricating, slandering, and turning journalists into villains is completely different, and I do not agree that this is happening so calmly!"
