Nhu Y: 10 years in the US, said no to scandals, broke up twice, U40 has no children

In 2002, at only 17 years old, Nhu Y won the fourth prize of 'Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing' and entered the artistic path. When she made a name for herself, she settled in the US and is currently one of the prominent voices overseas.

Singer Nhu Y was born in 1985 in Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province. Since 5th grade, Nhu Y won first prize in a local singing contest and studied at Bien Hoa Culture and Arts School.

At the age of 17, Nhu Y participated in the Dong Nai Television Singing Contest and won first prize. She continued to compete in the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Competition and won fourth prize.

In 2004, Nhu Y started her singing career in bars and clubs every night and continuously released many albums. After 6 albums and 4 songs composed by herself, Nhu Y suddenly moved to the US to settle and develop her music career overseas.

Settling abroad while her career was progressing caused the female singer to be rumored to have "escaped to America to give birth". However, Nhu Y always chooses to ignore such fabricated rumors because she does not want to affect her life.

At first, she lived in Texas. In 2015, the female singer moved to California where there are more Vietnamese people.

While many Vietnamese artists when coming to America have to work side jobs and manual labor to make a living, Nhu Y can completely live on her expertise and passion for music.

On weekends, she sings for an overseas center, so her income is quite stable to cover her living expenses and accumulate musical products. Not only does the female singer have a stable income, she can also provide for her parents and say no to scandals.

Nhu Y revealed: "In America, besides performing on weekends, the remaining days I mainly spend time with my family and meeting friends. There is no crew, so I do everything myself, from makeup to makeup. hairdressing to preparing outfits".

Nhu Y currently lives in the US and occasionally returns to Vietnam to perform. She is one of the few Vietnamese artists who makes a completely stable living through art without working a side job.

However, in her personal life, Nhu Y encountered many difficulties. After 10 years of coming to America, Nhu Y experienced two emotional breakdowns. The reason, according to the female singer, is because the two sides are not in sync with each other's thoughts, do not understand each other's professional work, and are often jealous.

"In love, I am often devoted, faithful, and spend time with that person. I am jealous but not without reason, usually stemming from a woman's correct intuition," Nhu Y shared on Vnexpress.

After two emotional breakdowns, Nhu Y admitted that she lives more realistically, less daydreaming. All she expects from her partner is someone who loves her, understands and shares with her, not being patriarchal or disrespectful.

"I'm not afraid to love someone younger than me. I'm financially independent, not dependent or have thoughts of reliance," the female singer expressed.

The female singer has experienced two emotional breakdowns, is currently single at the age of 39 and has no intention of getting married or having children.

At the age of 39, Nhu Y is not under pressure about marriage. For her, marriage must come from certainty and readiness from both sides, not because of age or because they want to please their parents. She was also not pressured by her family to get married.

In particular, the Dong Nai female singer is not serious about children. For her, it's okay to have children, but it's okay not to have children either. The female singer does not agree with being a mother on her own without needing a husband or father.

The female singer told the Star newspaper: "Really, everyone wants to have lasting happiness, but if not, I still have other joys. Currently, my joy is singing.

In the future, if I meet someone I can stick with for a long time, that will be luck. If I am unlucky in love, I will bring those feelings into music to become more and more sublimated.

My current job makes me move constantly, sometimes away from home for weeks. If any man can accept it, we can be together.

Even when it comes to children, I think differently from the majority: it's okay to have it, it's okay not to have it. Everything depends on fate, living a useful life, doing what you love is good. If I really want to have a baby, I want my child to have a home full of parents. That way, the baby will develop best, rather than me being a single mother."

Currently, after two emotional breakdowns, Nhu Y is living a single life. In the past few years, she has occasionally returned to Vietnam to sing and received love from audiences in her homeland.

"Even though I am no longer as passionately admired as when I first entered my career, I think I am lucky to have audiences who have been following me for many years. I myself still have a certain position and place to create. gives me the motivation to continue pursuing my career," the singer born in 1985 shared.
