The person behind the success of My Tam and many big singers

Musician Le Quang was born in 1968 in Saigon, since childhood has been passionate about music but has no conditions to pursue.

Before coming to art, musician Le Quang studied pre-university at the Faculty of Literature, Saigon University (1987).

After returning from the army, Le Quang was wondering about continuing his studies when he met his brother who had just graduated from the Faculty of Literature and said: "I graduated and now I have to sell groceries and repair bicycles."

Seeing this, musician Le Quang dropped out of his studies and went to work as a laborer, doing all kinds of manual jobs to earn a living. In 1991, he happened to join the group Yellow Skin, playing music while practicing songwriting for the group.

Initially, Le Quang only composed rock music, but when challenged by musician Nguyen Ha, he started writing Pop Love Ballads, with the first song being Going Away in 1997.

In the 90s, Le Quang was considered one of the strongest and fastest bass players, always full of inspiration every time he performed.

Le Quang is also the person behind creating success for the Green Wave singers such as Dan Truong, Hong Ngoc, Quang Dung, Phuong Thanh ... He composed many hit songs such as Lac Hong Blood, Going Away, Lullaby, White Sand Domain...

He received the Golden Plum Award for musician in 2002 and 2003 and won a series of Green Wave awards from 2003 until 2007.

After that, Le Quang stopped composing and focused on his business. In addition to his free time, he still writes harmony and writes music for several songs.

In the early part of her career, musician Le Quang was one of the people behind My Tam's success, helping her reach the top and enter the brilliant Green Wave period.

It can be said that if musician Nguyen Ha discovered My Tam, Le Quang was the one who took care of her, helping her talent shine. Their relationship began in 2002 and has lasted for more than 20 years.

During his 10 golden years, Le Quang was a music player, music director and created a buzz for My Tam's live shows. He also assisted My Tam in selecting songs, guiding song processing, and editing songs.

Le Quang was also the author of many hits of My Tam at that time such as Mercy, Victory Faith, Colorful Dream.

Musician Le Quang married singer Cam Tho in 1994. The two have a daughter. On her personal page, his wife still regularly updates about family life with the public. The musician's full, prosperous home over the years has been admired by many people.

Recently, musician Le Quang and singer Cam Tho celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in the US with the participation of close friends and colleagues. The party took place in a cozy space at his home.

The musician and his wife decorated their home, prepared cakes and food to welcome their friends. Although they have been together for nearly 3 decades, musician Le Quang and his wife are still as salty and sweet as in the beginning.

Le Quang said he was quite lucky to have a wife like Cam Tho. The singer both worked on YouTube and ran shows, traded extra to earn money to support her family but still took care of housework, took care of her husband and children, and her parents did not lack anything.

Life after illness

Musician Le Quang immigrated with his wife and daughter to the US in 2018. His family lives in a small house in California. However, around that time, the musician still moved back and forth between Vietnam and the US for work.

In October 2020, musician Le Quang made many viewers and colleagues worried when he revealed that he had to have surgery to remove a foot due to diabetes, leading to complications.

Although he always keeps an optimistic spirit, losing a part of his body is not easy for Le Quang. He confided that he felt uncomfortable and inconvenient. By 4/2021, the musician continued to perform cerebrovascular catheterization.

Experiencing the illness, Le Quang's health gradually recovered. However, sequelae from the disease and surgeries caused the musician to lose weight, his appearance was somewhat thinner than before. However, he still keeps an optimistic and happy spirit every day.

Musician Le Quang said that for the past time, he had to stay in the US to take care of his wife and children. For more than 3 years, the musician has not been able to return to Vietnam to continue his artistic work because his health conditions do not allow it. His overseas environment also did not inspire him to compose.

The musician said: "Living in the US is close to my wife and children, but my work has stalled. At this age, I wanted to be able to compose and write more music but couldn't find new inspiration here."

In return, musician Le Quang has time to be close and surrounded by his wife and children. Singer My Tam and some artists also often visit the musician's house whenever there is an opportunity.
