Musician Anh Quan: Praised by diva My Linh, divorce never spoke badly about his ex-wife

Musician and music producer Anh Quan (full name is Truong Anh Quan) was born into an artistic family with musician father Truong Ngoc Ninh and artist mother Thu Hien.

Quan soon showed an aptitude for music under his father's guidance and guidance. From the age of 7 to 14, Quan studied under Ta Bon in violin instruments at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music, then was directly recruited to the Moscow State Academy of Music named after Tchaikovsky in the Soviet Union.

Quan graduated from the conservatory with a major in violin but later because of his love for light music, he switched to playing guitar. In 1993, Anh Quan and Huy Tuan formed the band Anh Em in Germany, 4 years later the band returned to Vietnam and collaborated with singer My Linh.

After marrying singer My Linh, 2000 marked the success of both Anh Em and My Linh when the album Short Hair was born as a pioneer album in the Vietnamese music industry using modern technology. At the same time, the band Anh Em has made My Linh's name become one of the divas of the Vietnamese light music scene.

Currently, Anh Quan works as a producer, in albums such as Chat with Mozart (My Linh), Suoi & Grass (Nguyen Thao), Half Love (Anna Truong) ...

In addition, he also mixed for Ho Ngoc Ha's album 24 hours 7 days and participated in programs such as Charming Vietnam, Summer Handheld, live show series In the Spotlight ... In 2013 - 2014, Quan also had a new role as a judge on the 5th season of Vietnam Idol (2014).

Admirable marriage to Diva My Linh

In a talk show, musician Anh Quan shared many things about his wife My Linh and daughter My Anh.

The musician said that he first met My Linh in the studio. At that time, My Linh came to record a song by musician Truong Ngoc Ninh - Anh Quan's father. But because the new song did not know the lyrics, he was kicked out of the studio by Anh Quan for working unprofessionally.

"I spent a few days and stayed up at night mixing it for my dad, but My Linh didn't know what it was, and started to break the song. After we sat down and talked a few times, I realized that Linh was very passionate and wanted to do something that made me proud. I was very empathetic and talked to her about doing a few things," the musician said.

Currently, My Linh and Anh Quan have kept a happy home for more than 20 years. When asked about My Linh's portrayal as a partner instead of a colleague, musician Anh Quan said:

"The numbers speak for themselves. If we don't both try and cultivate, there won't be that number, especially now and especially in our profession. The 24-year figure is fantastic, I'm very proud of that.

Now that I say I have a wonderful, talented wife, it's cliché, I don't want to say that. I just want to say that what you see in our lives is that we all try very hard to be a good wife, a good husband.

The most contrasting thing between us is that Linh is lively and I am very quiet. What we have in common is music."

Regarding his daughter My Anh, musician Anh Quan said that he taught his children how to appreciate music, choose the music they like, use orchestration tools, and harmonize from an early age.

When My Anh decided to participate in The Heroes, he encouraged his children to freely show their abilities and accept the criticism of the audience.

"I told him, the show is a playground for him to compose and mix — these are two things he likes. I told you to determine, there will be many critics but you will have to accept it.

I said: I don't care if you get the prize, you don't care, to make music that you like for people to listen to, to make old songs into new ones is too happy why not do it? The U.S. agreed. And as you can see, she just does what she wants," the musician shared.

When the US UK received mixed reviews about foreign music, musician Anh Quan said: "My Anh is making music for her age. I respect that, every artist should have an audience that understands and likes them over time, not 100% everyone loves them."

Currently, musician Anh Quan is 52 years old. Sharing about himself, he revealed that in addition to music, he has a hobby of movies and collecting records and films. The musician hoped that if he had a lot of money, he would set up a nursery for disadvantaged children.

In My Linh's eyes, musician Anh Quan is a calm person who has never said a word bad about his ex-wife after 25 years of marriage. "I've been with Mr. Quan for all these years, I've never seen him say a bad word about Anna's mother," My Linh shared at the program "Sister Beautiful Stepping on the Wind".

Earlier, My Linh said that she was supported and encouraged by Anh Quan so she was motivated to participate in Sister Beautiful and Wind Turning with juniors. Before the singer entered HCMC to record, he advised his wife to erase the boundaries of generational differences with young artists. The musician told his wife not to call her "auntie" and get along with all the "beautiful sisters" because, according to him, everyone needs to be respected, listened to, and have their voice.

"My husband finds my life too stable and light at times, so he wants his wife to play Wind Ride to have fun again. He wanted me to fight and defend my opinions, to experience feelings of joy, sadness, contentment or disappointment through each episode. Every time he came home to hear me chirping about the show and the 'beautiful sisters' with twinkles in his eyes, my husband told me it was something he knew beforehand," she said.

According to Huong Ngoc Lan, men usually like their wives to take care of the house, but Anh Quan is not like that. He wanted her to go out and meet people, give her more energy, live more happily.
